  1. That's a pretty neat trip!
  2. Dude, you are en fuego!
  3. That is my favorite bite - a buzzbait bite.
  4. They are moving in around here. A black bear caused a stir in an east Fayetteville neighborhood Saturday morning before being safely relocated, officials said. Fayetteville police officers responded to reports of the bear cub on Aug. 2. FPD spent a few hours working with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, the Fayetteville Fire Department and nearby neighbors to monitor the animal and guide it away from homes, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.
  5. It is nice again this morning. 62 at 0600.
  6. Fried chicken lunch buffet - my kind of lunch!
  7. For tungsten their prices are pretty good. I wish their Ned heads had a weed guard. But they have a ball head with a guard that will work as a Ned. Buy Tungsten Weedless Ball Jig Head at the Best Price on Nako
  8. It feels good!
  9. I thought that only happened in Florida. 😃
  10. 10 years ago, I was not paranoid about hooks. Now, I am. Whenever I catch a striper with a top water treble bait, I am VERY careful getting the hooks out of the fish. The thought of a 10 lb. fish attached to a treble hook that is attached to me gives me the willies.
  11. Watched a PBS show last night "Human Footprint" it was about extinction. There's a segment on Chestnuts. They mentioned there are 4 adult chestnuts that somehow have survived the fungus, they showed one of them, kind of an ugly tree, but a survivor. If you are interested in the chestnut story, you might want to catch a rerun or it may be available on the web.
  12. Jerk baits are scary. Last time I got stuck it was a treble on a top water. Dutch was with me that day, had him do the line trick and it came right out. Bled like crazy afterwards, but no pain. And that reminds me, make sure to have a first aid kit that has functional bandages. Those band-aids will dry out over time and are worthless once they dry out.
  13. Dutch gave me the idea for these grippers. Plastic, they don't hurt the fish but lock firmly onto the fish. Little ones are still a pain to get off however and as Bill mentioned those are the dudes that get you. Cheap too at $7.50 so you can have a couple of them rattling around the boat. 14. Looking forward to the cooler weather later this week.
  15. That's some great fishing Bill!
  16. There are some big money boats out on the lake for sure.
  17. Cool down will be nice. You should be fine in that boat unless it is really windy. Watch out for wakes generated by the wake boats.
  18. You folks got me to do some searching, and this I found specific to Table Rock: SWLR1130-2-57.pdf This memorandum provides for the establishment of a commercial zone at marina concession sites and at Table Rock Lake's Remote Service Docks in the interest of public safety and for the protection of concessionaire and customer property. This includes the process for permitting commercial concessionaire authority to place signs to restrict all but commercial activity within this zone. Commercial Zone is defined as a designated area where only commercial activities are authorized. Recreational activities such as fishing, swimming, and diving are prohibited from public use including marina customers and patrons. No fishing tackle may be cast into this area. Commercial activity is typically the procurement of materials, supplies and services from the marina concessionaire. The commercial zone will include fuel and store docks, restaurant docks, and boat storage docks.
  19. I'm game, it is only a 2 day drive. Well, Ham would probably get there in one. 😃
  20. A biggun! Giant Redear Sunfish that Fought Like a Bass Is a New Arizona Record
  21. In general, I believe you are right at least on the COE lakes. The exception being the commercial docks which have no fishing zones around them. I think those zones extend out 50 feet.
  22. Wow, what a sunrise! Congrats on a great trip!
  23. In my opinion, just catching a few is pretty darn good this time of year.
  24. Looked up the MO state record for pole and line and it is 4 lbs. 8 OZ and it did come from Taney. Caught in 1990. Alternate method is 6 lb.'s 2 oz from Roark Creek. I read that there was no prior state record for white sucker in Arkansas, so it may have snuck under the radar as a species in Arkansas. I would have to think there are bigger ones in the White.
  25. Thanks Dollar - I did not get out any deeper than about 20 feet, so maybe they were out deeper. Schooner creek is out of my day trip range, wish it was closer.
