  1. I have not heard of that one, I will have to look it up.
  2. Good idea on the snips, that little bait keeper is annoying.
  3. I went back today, flat calm for most of the morning but when I left at around 1:30 PM it was really blowing. 19 today, 2 were keepers, only 2 on the Keitech the rest were Ned fish. The bites today were more in the areas I expect them to be this time of year, timber on steep banks, but also found a couple back in a cove. Open water Keitech fish had vamoosed. Caught 5 short walleye, biggest was a 1/4 inch shy of bring a keeper. Had another one on I believe, sliced the half zinker lengthwise. Scenery pic, blue sky and calm water.
  4. I now am using these heads, I too miss Dave's and after a lot of experimenting I use these. I broke one off today, on a really bad day I might lose 2 or 4. I use 1/8 oz almost all the time, and I like a #2 hook as the smaller hook won't get you hung up as much. Dave always recommended a #2 on his heads. It is tough to find Ned heads with a #2 hook. 5. That is pretty neat. There's a few beaver on Table Rock, always surprises me that there aren't more, must be a reason, maybe they get trapped.
  6. Warm temps in the forecast so I had to get out. Today it was Ned rigs and Keitechs, got zero bites on cranks and jerk baits. Started fishing a 2.8 Keitech on a 1/4 oz head, letting it fall to the bottom in 15-30 foot deep water and then slow rolled it back. If the bank I wanted to fish had a lot of trees and chunk rock, I would throw a Ned as that kind of stuff is too snaggy for the Kietech on an open jig head. Caught 14 today, 6 were keepers and all were spots except for one smallie. Caught a couple of short walleye too. Surface temp 47. Air temp was 61 when I left at 1:30 PM. This guy hasn't missed any meals.
  7. Yeah the early morning cold keeps me away too. Looks like a bit of a warm-up next couple of days so I might get out and give them a shot.
  8. Here's a link to an old thread, wish I had a link to the story. That was 10 years ago, so I'm sure that fish is dead by now, but shows you what could lurk in there. I'm pretty sure those shocking surveys were done above Houseman. 25 Lb. Brown Shocked Up By Agfc - Beaver Tailwater/Upper White River - OzarkAnglers.Com Forum
  9. I don't even want to hear this stuff. Ya'll are going to put me in the poor house. I wonder how much money I can bring in if I hang out at one of the intersections in Springfield near BPS with a sign that reads: "Need money for Livescope".
  10. Haven't fished there in a long time, and didn't fish it a lot back then, but it seems like when they ran water and it had some color with some trash in it, and was cold, that the fishing would shut down.
  11. I'll sign up for dogs and buns.
  12. Looks to be fixed.
  13. Tried to send you a PM, I think your OA mailbox is full.
  14. I have one of those indestructible Fortrex's myself, almost 9 years old and still kicking. If it ever dies I will definitely be looking at a spot lock TM and would also like to get brushless. Livescope will probably happen someday too for me, but not right away. Once fish get out more than about 30 feet deep, I lose interest in them unless they are on top, and I have fun fishing with what I have anyway. However I can see that if a guy is a serious tourney fisherman that you're going to be at a disadvantage without look ahead type sonar., especially in pre-tourney scouting.
  15. Looking to see if there is enough interest in having a tourney on March 20 out of Eagle Rock. We'd take some precautions, have plenty of hand sanitizer on hand and keep the bro hugs to a minimum 😃. Reply below if you think you'll attend, not looking for a 100% commitment, just trying to gauge how many are interested. So far it is myself and M&M.
  16. Thanks - I got a message stating that the Corps security certificate had expired 2 days ago, but was able to click on the "advanced" tab and could get the lake level. I'm thinking this will also screw up the OA links to flow and lake level until the Corps takes action.
  17. I get a "Your connection isn't private" message, when I go to the Corps site and try and look at Beaver lake level. That's a new one.
  18. Looks like the Corps level and flow links are not functioning. I went direct to the Corps site and it doesn't work there either. Don't know if that is related to the SWPA.
  19. You can find places to stay where dogs are allowed.
  20. I can see it now, bus loads of tourists stopping by to see the elk. It's becoming a big deal in Arkansas, locals are complaining about cars blocking the roads during the peak of elk-watching season. Anyway I see a business opportunity, T-shirt stand near the entrance to Peck, selling these. (.001% of profits directed towards elk habitat enhancement).
  21. That's a biggun for sure. If Bull has the schools of little shad like Table Rock does, those perch are going to have a good food source. And those perch are good eats, I have had them side by side with walleye and would take the perch over the walleye.
  22. There's my hat! Notice the appropriate camo pattern it had for a snow covered landscape. I'm sure Rick caught a lot of fish that day as the fish would not have been spooked by seeing his giant head looming over them.
  23. Ham mailed that hat back to me. Sadly, it got wore out and is probably buried in a landfill somewhere. BPS doesn't carry that hat anymore which makes me unhappy with them.
