  1. Brian we will miss you but certainly understand, good luck up there, hope that water moves out soon.
  2. Looks like a decent morning with some rain later in the AM, but doesn't look to be any T-storms. We'll set up by the pavilion which is right off the entrance road, you can't miss it. I plan to get there around 0630.
  3. Dang, I need another reel like I need a hole in my head, but that is a great reel at a great price. Somebody should snatch this up and keep me from doing so. 🙂
  4. Thanks for posting - sometimes if I catch a striper when the water is warm, I pretty much have to keep them as there's a good chance they won't survive when released. This looks to be an excellent recipe to add striper chunks to.
  5. Nice one Dock, you're doing a good job of convincing me I need to be out there slinging Keitechs.
  6. So glad I didn't pick Martens, last year I picked him several times and he just didn't do well the times I picked him.
  7. Seems to be a few back there, but it looks to be pretty random. I checked a few spots in coves, couldn't find any fish there.
  8. I don't know what it is, but here's my list: Moon is almost full Sudden rise in WT Rise in lake level Drop in amount of water being released Wind out of the NW All of the above
  9. I don't know what you guys did to the fish this weekend, but it wasn't good. 🙂 I fished until 2 PM, boated 11 bass, not one keeper, and they were all spots except for one 10" LM. One on a jerk bait, one on a Keitech, and the rest were ned fish. Fish were scattered, never found a hot spot. Couldn't get a bite shallow, biters were in 10-25 FOW. WT has jumped since the last time I was out, saw a low of 47 and a high of 49. Should've been better fishing than what it was. Maybe next time.
  10. I think I am 13th in the Tackelwarehouse league, but Dave is ahead of me in that one too. Wish I could say I have a method for making the picks, and looking at the next one at Hartwell, I'm clueless.
  11. Happy birthday Mrs. BH!
  12. Never have fished it myself, but have family history there. My grandad used to fish it in the 50's and 60's and my uncle, who lives in Memphis does fish it every once in a while, but hasn't been over there in a few years. Reelfoot has always been loaded with crappie and bream but they tend to run small. It's shallow as you noted. My grandad would use a fly rod, with a small cork 2feet below the cork and a split shot a few inches above the hook, and bait it with minnows. He'd drop that cork on one side of a stump or tree, let is sit for a couple of seconds, if nothing happened, pull it around to the front of the tree, then move it to the other side. Move on to the next tree or laydown and repeat. If the fish were deeper then he might "tightline" basically doing the same thing without the cork. Some errors above, can't fix it for some reason - But I meant to say a small cork, hook 2 to 3 feet below the cork and a split shot about 6 inches above the hook.
  13. Yep, got stuff to do also, but it's the last day of the Classic, can't bring myself to quit watching.
  14. Watching the Classic live, most of them are having a tough day also, flat calm, sunny conditions.
  15. I have 18 based on the responses in this thread and I suspect we may get a few more, if anyone else plans on coming please reply so that we have enough food for everyone, thought I think we will.
  16. I'll have to get back to you on that, not really sure myself.
  17. Table Rock and Beaver spotted bass are real easy to tell apart from the LM's. I could see someone having problems the first few they caught, but once you've caught a few it gets pretty obvious.
  18. If there's a mix of white bass and crappie fried together, I always tell people to eat the white bass first. Guy that lived down the road from me that passed away a few years ago always used to tell me that he could fry fish so well that nobody could tell the white bass from the other types of fish. I always gave him a hard time about that.
  19. Thanks for posting that report.
  20. Beaver lake spots are pretty good, on the rare days I keep a few, I'll keep spots in the 12" to 14" range, they are as tasty as any freshwater fish (except St Francis channel cats 😃). AGFC Fisheries biologists want people to keep Beaver spots, they implemented the same sort of policy you're seeing on Stockton. As far as I can tell it hasn't put a dent in the spot population. I'd like to see a slot limit myself, release the ones over 15".
  21. Realized that we did not take into account the time change, so moving the start time to 0700 instead of 0630 as it will still be dark at 0630.
  22. Good on you buddy and your friends to get out there and collect that trash.
  23. They are now in stock at Tackle Warehouse.
  24. That thing is a TANK!
  25. Welcome, look forward to seeing you there!
