  1. I guess the pinned topic on this forum stating that there should not be any topics started concerning GW doesn't apply to certain individuals.
  2. No I did no try a Wart, probably should have, there was some wind on the banks, maybe next time.
  3. Hmmm, I wonder if they can do this with boat trailers? I'm picturing myself rolling down the highway, standing on the long thing which is in front of my trailer. Truck stays at home, mucho gas savings.
  4. After reading Bill's report, I feel pretty humbled. I did put 5 in the boat, all LM's, 4 of them were chunky fish around the keeper mark, also got one 19" walleye (released). Fished from 11 AM to 4:30 PM. Got most of my fish dragging a tube on chunk rock flats with one coming on a finesse jig. Water temps were 47-48 degrees.
  5. Yeah what's up with the "feeding on pellets" thing?
  6. I might fish Indian creek tomorrow for bass, if I do I'll let you know how I did.
  7. I've got a Fishing Hot Spots map, actually there are two of them for the Rock, east and west sections. I bought mine a couple of years ago at Walmart, or you can order them online at www.fishingmaps.com. The maps show depth contours, road beds, sunken bridges, timber, bank composition, such as chunk rock or gravel, boat ramps, in addition to creek names etc., I use mine a lot, much better than my Navionics maps on my GPS.
  8. Excellent! Glad to hear you got into them.
  9. You can also fish Beaver, and if you want to get away from the skiers, the coves off the Indian creek arm have a lot of timber in them so the skiers for the most part, don't go back into them. Lots of bluegills in those coves that nobody fishes for. What's worked well for me is get some of those Eagle Claw long shanked panfish hooks (HLS carries them) and some redworms. Hook the redworm just one time through the collar (don't wad them up on the hook), fish them beneath a cork, great stuff for kids. Those long shank hooks, you can just pull them out of the fish with pliers, the hook will straighten sometimes, but just bend it back. It's a lot easier than dealing with short shank hooks when panfishing.
  10. Nice 'eyes!
  11. Me and Mixer must have been typing at the same time, lol, but it appears great minds think alike
  12. looking at the forecast, it looks to be in the 50's Wed - Friday and warming into the 60's over the weekend. Very fishable in my opinion. I'm not predicting hot fishing, but you've got a shot at some large bass this time year. I'd bring the boat and do some fishing, sounds like you can fish multiple days which is a help this time of year as it may take some fishing to find them, but it's been my experience the last few weeks that once you find them, there will be multiple fish in the area. I'd also bring some tubes and grubs.
  13. Dang, the Rock is really kicking out some big fish this year.
  14. No it's a largemouth.
  15. Based on the names, the perps look to be Russians. In the Pacific Northwest there were some Russians busted for snagging sturgeon and harvesting the roe. Of course, not all Russians living here are poachers, it's only a few of them. But that being said, Russian poachers in the Pac NW were blatant about their poaching and didn't seem to care about the consequences of being busted. If these guys get only a slap on the wrist, theyll be back at it as soon as they can.
  16. What I'm wondering is how many years they've been doing this? I'm guessing these guys have been keeping everything they've caught since day 1.
  17. Yeah I was listening to ESPN radio yesterday and they were picking LaSalle to win based on the fact that the A-10 was winning every game thus far. Looks like they called it right. I also agree on that SLU vs Oregon game, should be a good one!
  18. Yep Soda, welcome! I agree with Champ and Wormman, if you're coming down here on vacation, you could not do worse than to go with Bill Balber and find out what they're biting on.
  19. Well guys I have to brag, Got this fat gal today over here at Lake Windsor in Bella Vista, just under 7 lbs. I bet she weighs 4 after she spawns. On a custom painted Norman Flake Megabass. Caught another one at 4.25, was trying to lip one that was around 5 that got off, and had another one that looked to be 5 or 6 get off about 10 feet from the boat. Had another half dozen or so chunky fish in the 2 lb. range. Right place at the right time, they were chasing shad and being stupid. I like stupid bass
  20. I'd also try a weightless, wacky rigged Senko type bait.
  21. How about that Southern/Gonzaga game? I have to wonder if Gonzaga is worthy of that #1 seed.
  22. Kudos to Cliff Pace, I'm beginning to like the guy. I hope he does well.
  23. Wow, that is a nice looking custom job on that Wart.
  24. If I'm reading that right a child age15 and under can get a lifetime license for $275.00? Not a bad deal if you've got a kid that looks to be a dedicated fishermen for the rest of his/her life.
