  1. Looks like the pigs got the mannequin head also... I went to Boone a few times. Nice area, camped one time. In a Hurricane. Rainy all of the time and windy. Thinking it was October when that mess happened.
  2. You need the exercise. Did you catch any?
  3. We went up and fished last Thursday afternoon and Saturday. Front came thru Weds and big chill Friday morning. We fished out of Long Shoal the afternoon we arrived, went up and fished the coves and timber. Water was clear and calm 70 degrees. Shad were schooled in the trees and some bass were feeding. Chartreuse crank baits seemed to dredge a few up. Beautiful afternoon. Lake was really low and dangerous out of main channels. One keeper largemouth for me and 2 for the wife. Friday morning was cool and we decided to do the tour of the area. We drove to several of the ramps, hit the antiques and gun shops in Warsaw. I just was not in mood for fishing that day. Saturday, we split up and I went to Bucksaw access. Water was a muddy mess up there and really full of trees, walls of trees. Pelicans were feeding in them and the shad were there. We hammered the water pretty hard, the wife busted a school of 1 nice white bass. Only fish of the day. Nice lunch at the Marina, very good shrimp poor boy. The whole trip got funked up 20 minutes after we hit the first cove Thursday, phone started ringing. Finally answered knowing something must be wrong. 32 y/o cousin was killed in Waterloo Thursday morning on his motorcycle, ran off road and hit culvert, ejected. Too young, too soon. His Dad had brought him up from Texas and they had been touring and camping on motorcycles since August. They had brought their toy hauler and stayed at the farm for a few weeks. Shook me up pretty good.
  4. We have caddis hatches along the upper Current River all the time. Mo fly anglers like to drag the dry fly types under, crackle back comes to mind. I think it's a local thing.
  5. Good for you. Where is she taking you?
  6. Then its just a mini muddler without the tail....
  7. Sure you can. The question asks if you are an "unlawful user". You can be silly high on legalized drugs and still answer the question truthfully. Medical Pot is legal if you have the script. Possession is against the law "Federally", they don't care about the status of your state and local government. You are answering the question in a State. Missouri pretty well gives the finger to the Federal Enforcement of its silly rules. We have made that clear, but has yet to be tried in court I believe. e. Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance? Warning: The use or possession of marijuana remains unlawful under Federal law regardless of whether it has been legalized or decriminalized for medicinal or recreational purposes in the state where you reside. My favorite on that form. Sex (__)Male (__)Female (__)Non-Binary I always answer Non Binary. I have no desire to own a trigger mechanism that fires both when pressed and released................... Another confusing question. What is a binary trigger? An aftermarket trigger for semi-automatic guns that allows one round to be fired upon the trigger pull and a single round to be fired as the trigger springs back AKA binary shooting or double tap. The binary trigger will enable you to shoot twice as fast with the same amount of work, making for a fun but short day at the range or shooting practice. Many people are concerned that a binary trigger transforms their gun into a fully-automatic firearm. However, by the ATF’s definition of machine guns, this is not the case, and binary triggers are legal in most states (more on that later).
  8. Weed is the way to go now, just get a permit or an excuse slip.
  9. Sounds like a good trip. October is one of the best months to float it.
  10. Its the little things that get you on the water. You notice the big ones more.
  11. That black light effect blurs most of what we see there...
  12. What happened on that little log?
  13. Glad to see there is still fish in it. Nice little place there
  14. 30-30 and .410 are hard to find ammo for now. I did find some 410 personal defense today in Warsaw at a shop, no regular 3" stuff anywhere since I inherited a Taurus Judge back in spring.
  15. Which air rifle was it? You have wild pecans that far north? We only have them around here in the bootheel along the Mississippi River.
  16. I have used a pontoon like that on the White and Norfork with several units running. Its a blast. Never needed a trolling motor, they row pretty easy. Till the wind picks up strong.
  17. Fish will eat anything, including lead weights and fillets off fish cleaning stations. Who is to prove it different? We had a fellow weighing in a gobbler for a contest. Knowing most of the time they hang the bird by the neck, he felt he was safe. They hung his by the feet and all of the water ran out his neck. "Well I killed him by the creek getting a drink..." Our bird won that round, we used ball bearings down the neck. Stayed in place better....
  18. Aluminum boats will be the same 30 years from now. Fiberglass ones will be faded, cracked, and falling apart unless babied and kept under cover. Aluminum boats are tough and can be painted when they fade. Saltwater should not affect the boat any, its the damage to other components like the motor.
  19. Sounds like you need a wireless version. Look for an older motorguide wireless, wireless foot pedal air key fob.
  20. I have used one like it, looks like caddis worm out of its shell. The floating ones I use when the fish seem to like the strike indicators I use. Something about the chart. green turns them on sometimes. Water cress seems to look like a floating green thing. Maybe they need a salad sometimes.
  21. Anyone remember the old Dick Cheney mannequin on road down to Montauk years ago? That guy had a few signs also. My neighbors are pretty civil. None worth shooting, none would pee on my house if on fire to save it except for two. 2 meth labs going most of time. Cameras keep watch, normally peaceful.
  22. Thanks
  23. Looks like Long Shoal is our ramp near by. Are they working shad balls yet or still too early? Going for bass. But have the better half with me so if we can find easy fish for her, its a plus.
  24. May want to double check that there is not a no burn order in effect. Its been pretty dry this summer. They started one as we were leaving back in July, posted it on the store at Riverton overnite.
  25. Heading up next weekend and needing some reports. Fall weather cooling things down around here. First time on the lake, any info will be helpful.
