  1. How about the masses of blackbirds that spread histaplasmosis back in the 70's? Remember the cannon volleys to run them out at dark in towns.
  2. Probably the loose dirt that they build in. Dad filled the barn main part with sand from the creek, Doodle Bug cones are all around. They morph into a little damselfly looking lacefly. Lots of spiders in that barn. Maybe they are genetically trained to look for spiders that feed on ants.
  3. Doodle Bug, Doodle Bug, your house is on fire. Always gets them to move. Sense vibration.
  4. Try hitting a bat, that is a dodgy creature.
  5. Spiders love bee equipment.
  6. One way to protect fenders there, but back bumper still wide open for a shot.
  7. We hunted everything growing up, but not the dove. It was the bird of peace, a symbol of it anyway. And we never acquired a taste for them or had crop damage from them. Just the way I was raised.
  8. Just saw an 85 y/o man in one
  9. Not really, it could happen in lots of places. Spring River in Ark, Current River or 11 PT River, or any place that holds them. I have caught Walleye out of Spring River in kayaks and canoes. The other 2 have been in boats, but not much difference, still floating. Rivers are fun places to catch walleye and sauger.
  10. It never was a destination, just a change of pace. Never crowded and held a few trout. Always a spot to camp overnite. The stream is easy to wade and was always clear.
  11. Hi intensity light and gigs work better.
  12. Where were you when we were there last winter? The Yancy entrance looked pretty sketchy, I remember it was a pssing match with the locals years ago. Most were walking in from gate at road into park. Buddy does not do hills well.
  13. I will be running 2 battery systems. 3 on big boat, never tried to pull start the 50hp, but upgrading to 24v troller. My trolling motors are isolated from the hull with the rubber spacers. The more saline the water is has a difference in the electrolysis I think. There was a thing in high school where we made a salt water battery reaction. I have had interference with the sonar on the bigger boat, but I think it was cross talk between the transducers. One was a bird and the other Lowrance. I switched to Garmin and Lowrance and have clear pics.
  14. If I had a dollar for every productive fishing trip I have had this year, it would not buy 2 gallons of gas. Farming again this weekend.
  15. Big gun show in Cape Girardeau next weekend at Showme Center. Good place to trade.
  16. Locals probably started emptying out holding tanks up hill when they pull the campers out. It has been quite a show the last few years at that ramp. I miss the old channel around Hall's Bay shoal. Putting in at Riverton is easier.
  17. So the galvanic action occurs when both batteries ground to water, both motors down? My buddy does that alot in his boats. What about kicker motors on bigger rigs, both hit the water some. Main motor has the anode on the lower unit, troller has none that I have ever seen. Does that come into play in this mix?
  18. We used to chuck rocks at canoes from an overlook above waterfalls on Spring River. My arm was never good enough, but buddy could get them out there. There was a Dr Pepper Machine that fell off that overlook and made it almost to the river. Kids with too much time.
  19. Beaver Dam on a Spring? Whitten has always been high and dry unless the water is up. There is the little branch you cross between the road to the upper camp and the river access. But its always dry. Back in July, each parking site had a burn pit on it. We were there after the 4th and the lifer campers had left it a mess. But it was dry. Except for the jackleg pulling a tube in the boat hole in front of ramp.
  20. Lane Springs has been going down the tubes for a while. We stopped in last winter and found the closed gate. It was an old winter stomping ground from the 90's for me and a summer stop over from time to time. But the Non Binaries got to hanging out there trolling for others, probably a little meth production going on, and NPS changed the hours. I never really could call it a premium fishery, but it was unique. And I caught fish there as a change of pace from parks and rivers. Always better than the other Mill and Spring creeks.
  21. I have gutted a Tracker Panfish boat and building back from scratch to Jet Boat 2.0. I will be wiring it with all new wire. One trolling battery and one start/accessory battery. I am also converting my Crappie Pro from 12v trolling to 24v trolling motor also and came across this in the manual for the trolling motor. Establishing a Common Ground MotorGuide recommends isolating the trolling motor battery/batteries from the main engine battery. Electrolysis Issues – Using the engine starting battery as a source of power for any trolling motor may cause electrolysis on metallic parts. 􀀹 If you have followed the battery wiring and installation instructions in this manual and your boat continues to have electrolysis issues, you will need to separate the trolling motor from any other boat electronics. 􀀹 Remove the engine starting battery from the wiring configuration of the boat and isolate the power circuit for your trolling motor. Establish a Common Ground: Common ground means the ground for the main engine accessories and your trolling motor are connected to the same negative ground terminal. Not having a common ground can cause severe corrosion or electrolysis. If left unchecked, damage may be caused to your trolling motor and boat. Establishing a common ground connection will allow increased sensitivity and improve detail on a sonar display. I have a ground bus bar for new boat build. Do I need to connect to each negative post of each battery to the bus bar? This common ground and the Electrolysis issue is something I have never seen in the Aluminum boats, but sounds pretty nasty. As far as I can tell, factory wiring does not seem to follow this rule that Motorguide recommends. I do isolate the trolling battery to only trolling.
  22. I thought this was about Queens in other countries. Seems pretty political to me. But Monarchs don't really give peons a choice. I did venture off into bee keeping, but Wrench made it about personal relationships.
  23. If queen leaves, she will take half with her like bees do in a swarm. But she will leave you all the work and bills.
  24. If my bees go queenless, they make a new one from one of the new offspring.
  25. Niagua River or Montain Home?
