    Spooky

Went into Wally World to pick up a few things. They had marked down some flashlights and headlights, so I picked up a new led with red and blue nite vision. Stepped out and looked over the back yard, there were many little reflections, like mirrors. Got closer to one, spider eyes.
  2. Back in the 90's, a flyfishing buddy of mine shared a skunk pelt with me. He had collected it off the road and skinned it, dried and cured the pelt. We decided to tye a few fur bugs with it and tried them out at Montauk. The fur was shiny and flowed nicely. But, it did have that skunky smell. Just like my fingers after I tyed a few. The trout would run up and look at it, then veer off. We tried them later on in a creek full of longear beds. Same effect, those gills would turn on them. I still have some of that pelt somewhere. I use it to keep moths out of my good stuff.
  3. Claim native american and they are your heritage.
  4. California will never be a stopping point unless it changes its ways. Been to the Kenai, Alaska was a bucket list before I ever needed a bucket. Glad I did it young. Gonna do the salt. Have to catch a Peacock, they are just too pretty and aggressive. Patagonia or New Zealand would be my exotic tour if I take one.
  5. One of the points has a Clinton resort on it. Been there when floatplanes are taking off and landing on it. Not sure who has the right of way on that one. Hamilton is different, trout on upper end, temperate bass and others thru the rest. Big houses all around. Nice area.
  6. Lizards are smart too.
  7. Chickens are nasty animals and gardens are alot of work.
  8. Hitting them everywhere, mainly commercial hives in ag fields. There was a no good s head that was meeting people in SEMO on Fbook selling them the hives of others in fields last year.
  9. Deer Carts are multipurpose. I have never used one for a deer, but have hauled blinds and decoys out to duck hunting spots. Packed in a hang on to one spot on the farm where the 4 wheeler could not go.
  10. Figures, I never look for horse stuff. Dad was a big horse guy.
  11. Or the other pills you are taking are affecting your kidney function, the 2 little devices that take the uric acid out of your system. Drink some water, keep them kidneys running.
  12. Where do you get the alfalfa pellets? Good idea to get some nitrogen in.
  13. I was going to make some Meade, but realized it was only wine. Never really cared much for wine. I have a brewmeister at work that is going to make a honey beer for me. If production gets back up, I have someone that will make a honey whisky. But it requires a 5 gallon donation to run a batch.
  14. I have heard they squirt crap at you in self defense. I do pop them at the farm whenever I see them. They dig holes out in the field that livestock can fall into. They pop real loud when hit with HV ammo and jump straight up. Makes a good show. Invasive species, get rid of them.
  15. I don't see any family either. He must be by his self.
  16. Must be the smell of your shampoo that attracts them.....
  17. I have pvc hoops and clear roofing panels. Slip something over the open ends if I need to warm up. Right now, its just on to dry and thaw the ground. The business we bought out and moved our office had a greenhouse on the side of it as a lean to. I kept several of the panels when we took them off and covered with metal. I will have a nice green house on the farm when retirement comes.
  18. No wonder she was complaining that you only spent a hundred dollars on flowers for Valentines Day. I think hers were bigger.
  19. I always did the rabbits in yards in town with a Crosman 177 pistol. Nighttime after work when most were asleep. Back in the starving college days when smoked oysters, mushroom soup and rice were a good meal.
  20. Mitsubishi made the little D50 Dodge PU. Datsun supplied the first S 10 Chevy engines or whatever the little truck was that became the S 10, Grandpa had one.
  21. They did, till Mazda started making them...
  22. Lettuce did not happen Monday. I was able to cover up one raised bed on Sunday to start drying out. But, it was still too wet to work up this afternoon. Maybe this weekend. Snow still around here from 2 weeks ago. Not much, but spots of it where it drifted. Most went off today in the windstorm.
  23. Have you grown sunflowers in a raised bed before? My best bet would be plant them into a good tilled garden spot. They usually have a weak root system and planted in a good loose soil bed, good wind will blow them over. They are fun to grow.
