  1. Well,, government shutdown averted. Heading out into a big cold front approaching on Weds nite or Thurs morn. Not even Oneshot makes it up that far even more.
  2. Stick a short paddle off the back end and see it it helps. Kayaks have many different hulls. Some sort of keel helps on flat lake waters but will kill you on moving waters. Depending on how your hull is shaped determines how it tracks on the waters.
  3. Nice report. Maybe this front will bring them out of their funk.
  4. Ultra clear low water conditions have made the fishing very tough. When in doubt, powerbait on a treble hook will bring them in. In the bait area of course.
  5. Probably going to hit it going up or coming back from Truman next week. Front coming thru Weds that is going to start the fall cool down. I heard the shad were starting to ball on Truman. Have to find a crappie size swimbait for those musky, that would be fun.
  6. Heading to Truman next weekend for annual fall trip to the area. Any reports here? Looking forward to a Gov shutdown closing all CORPS ramps.
  7. Walleye or white bass hitting yet?
  8. Great photos
  9. Went by a local park in town the other day and found a nice bunch of oysters growing out of a tree root. Kinda past the prime and in a location where dogs normally walk. I passed.
  10. That's what that wax is for! I thought it was there just to impede consumption.
  11. Did not see many suckers when I was down last month, river was getting really hard to run then. No real rain since Labor Day. Fished below Riverton to State Line
  12. Still missing that part of state. Have been on TN river from Paris to Pickwick. Cumberland Paris up a ways, then Cordell Hull and Center Hill. Tim's Ford, Normandy, and Duck River in several places. Chickamauga and upper Nickajack. We surveyed the Ocoee and Hiawasse 2 weeks back, did not fish it. Trying to hit Dale Hollow, never seem to make it there. I really liked Cordell Hull, cool waters, more river like. Nice laid back area, not full of tourists.
  13. No. Not sure where that is. Did read a few OUI magazines back in college.
  14. I liked that river the few times I floated it back in the 90's, even with the gravel mining going on that Whitlock was fighting. We did the area above Yellville and waded it down above where it became a loosing stream. Used to see a roadrunner or 2 down there along the road on the trips over. I need to get back down that way next year. I have been lingering around TN waters too long.
  15. I noticed today was your birthday at 6 am this morning when I checked in, just too tired to make note of it... And I am 5 years behind you. Happy Birthday and many many more.
  16. Excellent show. Just finished the 2nd show of current season. Been a busy summer.
  17. The Marshall's office pays pretty well. Good luck to her.
  18. Looks like they make a Terrova with autopilot and transducer in 12 v, $3500. Never saw one last spring when I bought my xi3 for about a third of that. They had been out of the Motorguides for a while, Bass Pro just had one in stock when I showed up. I have never warmed up to the Minnkotas, have a pile of them in the yard. All with rusty lower units.
  19. Water is alot clearer than 2 weeks ago. We came in after a heavy rain, Fredrick Creek was puking mud probably on that gravel bar you stayed on. I was running a jet boat. Takes a little more water than your boat. OP was way up river before many more creeks and springs dump in. Riverton down is always a safe bet, as long as you don't need a trout fix. Tubes and chartruese swim baits were working good for us.
  20. I got lucky, my nodes were all pulled out of my neck. I swell up when I lay down to sleep from the neck up, but all seems to drain well during the day when upright. Double pillows or a wedge pillow helps with sleeping. Hard to swallow in mornings, cheeks puffy. Storms coming in with pressure changes suck.
  21. It was a covid boat, put together in late 2020. 1st owner did not last a year with it before they put it up for sale. Probably a factory dyslectic assembled. I went with the xi3 this year because I wanted spotlock. Motorguide was only one to offer a 12v with it. I did not want to add another battery or have a place for one in the Tracker. Been happy so far with it. But I have noticed the offerings from them are getting slim.
  22. My buddy just bought a Lowe for the lake in Charanooga. The pedal on the x3 is going opposite of the normal toe down=right heel down=left. Previous owner just screwed the pedal to the deck backwards and run it that way, pressing power with heel. Do I need to flip drive cable at head or foot pedal?
  23. How much booze did you have?? Nothing but clouds here on the dock at Chickamauga lake last nite. Mountains generated several thunder heads that stuck around all afternoon. Probably Starlink internet space pollution flying over, I think they are all in a line.
  24. Are they any better than good Ole hose clamps? Never really knew they made a zip tie for that purpose. I have seen the crimped metal bands, those seem pretty worthless.
  25. That bend below 160 has lots of new timber in it. Be careful. Nice place to camp.
