People are running out of money and nobody wants to pay for it when they try to resell and make some money on it. Last gunshow, one table had a bunch of 410, off brand. $40 a box for 2 3/4 shells. I think he took it all home and did not sell any. Last box I bought, post Obummer and pre numbnuts, was $12 at Wally. I don't shoot alot, but the kids like to shoot them. I have 2 full size single barrel shotguns, a youth H&R, and a Judge Pistol. So handy to keep a few spare boxes.

Powder and primers are scarce still.

Tell them to take a drive west this weekend and see what they missed. It crossed back and forth over Hwy 34 for several miles.

Phone woke me up a 3:45 am this morning, Tornado on ground heading my way. It broke up about 10 miles away. It was on the ground from Castor River to a little town called Scopus. It tore up Grassy and Glen Allen outside of Marble Hill. 5 dead and many injured. Skipped over my Sis's house, went north of Dad in nursing home, and broke up before me. I have had asparagus for a few weeks now. 1 morel in yard 2 weeks ago, then the frosts came back in.

Starting to look like I will be a solo fisherman up there. At least Phil will be there.....

Tough weekend, we slept in on Saturday. Storms and wind was a deal breaker. Sunday Morning was nice, but we did more scouting than hunting. Nothing gobbling on the first place we went and nothing at the farm. We took off on a road hunt scouting for the real season. Birds did not gobble until 8, and it was off on private land. Scouted a river put in for jet boat trip and about ran over a hen. She was looking for a nest in the bottoms. We got out and made some calls, never heard a tom. Went to a neighbor at the farm around noon and spoke to him. Our first place actually had two birds start gobbling a few hours after daylight. And others in the area and one behind my farm. But all did not start till late morning. We left the area by 7:00. Season was a little early this year because of the Easter Holiday. And I don't scout the birds like I used to, did not have any pinned down. Found some prospects for normal season in a few weeks. Should be prime time then. Many of my old hunting areas are being logged or recently logged. Some are burned and wide open, but are managed for disabled hunters. The Forestry Management is killing trees like the old clear cutters did at the end of the 1800's. We did manage to call up a few Hoot Owls and a flock of Crows. We had a good time and found a new jet boat launch area.

What is a Binary Trigger? Binary triggers are semiautomatic triggers that feature two modes of firing, semiautomatic and binary. The semiautomatic setting in a binary trigger is just like any other semiautomatic trigger. When someone shoots a firearm in semiautomatic, a single round fires for each pull of the trigger. The secondary mode in a binary trigger is the binary setting. In binary mode, one round fires when the shooter pulls the trigger and another round fires when the trigger is released. If you aren't interested in shooting binary that day but have a binary trigger, there's no need to worry. You can simply move the selector to semiautomatic mode and avoid binary altogether.

I took a hint fron oneshot and headed south last weekend. Left the rain and 45 at the TN border and hit the sunshine. Pickwick was sunny and upper 70 to 80. Little windy on Sat afternoon on lake, nothing biting. Hit the river below Sunday morn and first fish out of boat in 2023, 8 lb buffalo on crank bait. River was up and Muddy, 59 degrees. My new gps trolling motor worked like a champ holding boat in place while I landed fish. Few skipjack, drum, and 1 largemouth. Crossed back over bridge into MO to rain and 50 degrees that nite. Amazing how 4 hours makes that kind of difference.

Thump that gator on the head and make a pair of boots... Why do you need a toilet on a "house boat"? Hang it over the side and let it rip. I have a guy that I fish with from time to time that carries a big Gatorade bottle in his boat. Has this fear of peeing off the boat, but not in a boat with 2 others in a bottle.

Don't get too far offshore, might not find your way back...

Since the last surgery, I have used a 20 GA for lighter recoil. Put away my 30.06 bolt rifle and went to all gas AR rifles. They tweaked a nerve in surgery that runs across me right shoulder making me recoil sensitive. 12 GA is only for home defense, not prolonged shooting. You may need a shooting stick to compensate for the left arm. You will need something to hold up the front while you shoulder it. Never been a fan of one handed shotguns. Even my AR pistols have a forearm brace to support them when I shoot them. Now the ATF wants to make them illegal.

The last I bought about 4 years ago for grandson cost $10 for Winchester #6. Then the covid run on ammo raised it to $25 from legit suppliers. I bet the 50 boxes are gone by now.

Gun show 2 weeks ago had lots of them for $45 a box for some off brand foreign jobs. Local shop has some of the new turkey loads at about $6 a pop. Its stupid. I have 3 single shot 410's and one Taurus Judge. Have not found any for over a year now. Other than the stupids that hoard them and try to sell at the shows. I really feel like unloading one on those types. What amazes me, they are still selling 410 guns. Even make an AR style auto. I don't buy anything I can't make go bang when I walk out of the store.
