  1. Menards has cheap led strip lights for around 30 bucks. You will be planting stuff outside after it warms up, so they don't have to be fancy.
  2. I update mine over my local wifi, pretty simple. But my boat is 30' from the router. You can Hotspot your phone and do it off there if needed I think, have not tried.
  3. I am a few clicks north of you, but have always planted cold crops in Feb around Valentines Day. They may lay in the ground for weeks or hit a warm spell and pop up quick. I cover with clear cover that keeps the ground dryer and warms up some more in the sunlight. Keeps the feral cats out of it trying to use it as a litter box also.
  4. Game on and I beat the rush this year. Came home this afternoon and cleaned off a raised bed. It hoe'd up good and I seeded it with spinach, buttercrunch, black seed simpson, and snow peas. Put the cover on and let her rip. Calling for rain later on this week. Cleaned off the asparagus. Looked at the strawberry bed and left it for later, ran out of daylight.
  5. I have found that if you hit enough brush with the jet boat while drifting and fishing, it rubs the water spots off the motor.
  6. What happens when she finds a stray dog?
  7. Growing up, I made it a point not to name the food.
  8. I would drop them in now, you are far enough south. They will sprout. I plant lettuce and snow peas this week in raised beds normally. I will cover then with plexiglass and if it warms up, they will come up. Both are cold hardy and will stand up to frost pretty well.
  9. Another over Great Lakes. https://www.kfvs12.com/2023/02/12/sen-schumer-says-2-downed-objects-believed-be-balloons/ So they have adjusted their radar to track slow moving things. Nobody ever thought they might be drifting stuff over us?
  10. Spring is in the air. Easter flowers are popping up. Bees are brooding up and getting ready. Maples are in bloom and we have a few days of no rain. Time to drop some lettuce in the raised beds. Be a good Valentine and plant lettuce.
  11. And another over Canada. https://www.livescience.com/us-shoots-down-ufo-over-canada
  12. I am going to show off my cocks. Dad fell and chipped a bone in his hip 3 years ago and had to stay at Sis's house to recover. He was never able to get out and tend the flock like he used to again. He had about 20 banty chickens in 2 runs. He was up in arms on how we were going to feed them. I just offered to buy them out and butcher them, problem solved. A local guy came buy one nite and tried to catch them, they were flying out the coop and 5 got away. They went feral, 4 roosters and a hen. The hen went to sit and something got her. 2 years ago deer season, one of the roosters disappeared. This pair has been able to avoid the predators and still keep going. I keep some hen scratch in the bird feeder and birds kick enough out to give them something during the week in the winter. I scatter some on ground when I am there. Summertime, they live off the land. They have some pretty nasty spurs on them now.
  13. We were in town a few weeks back for supper and ran across a possum running along the road in the street light. The city boy says "possums are good, they eat ticks." I say "but think how many it would take to make a meal".
  14. This is how it started in 2019, something from China fouled up the world. Now, 2 years before the next election, China is invading again. I smells a rat.
  15. Aliens
  16. Kids grow so fast, unless you are making several of them, its a losing battle. My daughter wore mine, but did not started wading cold water until she wore my stocking foots and some heavy socks. Around 12. Grandson #1 was almost the same. First trout trip, borrowed a pair of duck hunting waders my boss bought for his 3 sons growning up. By the next few seasons he was into mine with a few pair of socks. Now, at 14, he has passed me up and will be barefoot into my boot foot waders. When he levels out, I will buy him his own. At age 6, he will not be able to go very deep or handle very fast water. Depending on height and weight. Duck hunting was a different story and no swift water.
  17. More work than play. Like a woman.
  18. Fancy Heron target there, had to stick out like a sore thumb in the water.
  19. Heating too high and fast ruins its quality.
  20. Billethead hit the nail on the head. Microwave will get job done, but will melt plastic if in plastic container. Double boiler on stove to 100 degrees max should melt crystals.
  21. Everything has a "Made in China" sticker on it. We are too lazy to make much of anything any more. Who gave them the tech in the first place? This started a long time ago. Nixon opened up free trade. Bush 1 did his part for the free trade. Clinton's gave them secrets. Hunter and Joe have been sleeping with them all of their lives.
  22. Canadians do alot of damage too. Need to keep them down. Good job.
  23. Reel for Recovery is a Positive Spiritual experience. I was there and gained alot from it. Met some great people and enjoyed the fellowship. Don't wander into it just expecting some flyfishing, they are there to help those that are needing something more to keep going after a traumatic experience. Flyfishing is therapy in so many ways. Make sure you hook up with Billethead for a stream buddy one time. Marty is great medicine. Be well, and Fish on.
  24. If it fell into "international waters", it could have been a field day and a grab bag. Precisely dropping it where we could retrieve it may have helped. There was a bag of Hillary's personal garbage onboard. I think the debris field has lengthening to 7 miles as of the last report this afternoon. It was 5 when I read this morning. I stood with my buddy looking over Chickamauga Lake yesterday morning and asked "what kinda stupid will they come up with next??" You really can't make this up. The last 4 years have been surreal.
  25. And... most of the debt is to the Chinese.
