We can handle 920, 925, with no problem & no flooding. Above 930 & there will be problems lake wide & down stream. If the USACOE keeps it's eyes & ears open & learned anything ( & I WOULD NOT BET ON THAT ) from the last 2 floods they will release water @ the correct rate starting @ 920 & there will not be any problems for those on TANEYCOMO. If they follow the same pattern they did twice before & don't worry about it & or act till it reaches above 925 then those below the DAM could have a problem. Yes @ or above 925 there is lots of good stuff in the water to target with spinner baits & top water.

Feel your loss as I have been there & done that. I would strongly suggest you check with your insurance agent re. if your stuff is covered by your home owners policy as it may well be. Back in September 2001 I was on TRUMAN LAKE ( STAYING @ OSAGE BLUFF AS I DID FOR YEARS ) & my RANGER & EVERYTHING IN IT was stolen out of a boat-slip @ the OSAGE BLUFF MARINA. Got the RANGER back later that day ( WAS FOUND FLOATING IN A COVE BY A LAUNCH RAMP ) everything there but " ALL MY TACKLE & PERSONAL PROPERTY WAS GONE " called my insurance agent & he said drive into BPS in Springfield or anywhere else you want to go & buy anything you need it's all covered by your home owners policy. File a report with the MISSOURI STATE WATER PATROL & contact me when you get home. Maybe I just got lucky for once I don't know, but all my stuff was replaced to the tune of almost $15000.00 & back in 2001 that was a lot of tackle. All I had to do was file the report along with an itemized list of what was stolen & what it cost. " GOOD LUCK " sounds like you need a little.

Sore Thumbs, you are correct it's just about time, normally right around THANKSGIVING is when I start throwing them, as always the water temp. will influence the BASS & how quickly they will be on them. Give the old MUD BUG a shot & I think you will like the results. But now don't get to hooked on em as with them no longer in production they are hard to find @ a reasonable price. Also, what BO said about the old BOMBERS is " 100% + RIGHT ON " !!!!!!! After the MUD BUG it's my 2nd. favorite. Not only the wooden ones but the plastic ones also. Can't tell you how many BASS I have caught on those, but again, NO LONGER MADE. Like they say " THEY JUST DON'T MAKE EM LIKE THAT ANYMORE " !!!!!!!

The MUD BUG will run @ a depth of approx. 8 ft. using 10 LB test & keeping the rod tip @ the water. But, here are a couple of tricks, the lip is metal not plastic so you can bend it ( CAREFULLY ) down & or up, to make it run deeper ( BEND IT DOWN ) shallower ( BEND IT UP ). Also, a slip sinker on the line will get you greater depth & cause a ( IF YOU PEG IT ) partial suspending action.

I think in the bottom picture, 3rd. bait top row ( BLK / SLVR CRANK BAIT ) you have a LAZY IKE NATURAL IKE. Can't tell you how many of them I & the other members of the BASS CLUB I was in @ that time ( WELL OVER 20 YEARS AGO MAYBE 30 ) bought when they came out on the market, never caught a single BASS on one of them !!!!!!! Now the MUD BUG, that's another story. If you like a WIGGLE WART go out & throw that MUD BUG in the same places & see what happens. I have about 10 or 12 left ( NO LONGER MADE ) & will put them up against any other CRAW-DAD imitating crank bait. When the BASS are on a craw-dad bite they are " DYNAMITE " !!!!!!! PS: Lets keep this a secret, please don't tell anyone about them !!!!!!!

Check out the area from where the BRANSON BELL docks going in both directions, from the BB toward the DAM, & from the BB toward the STATE PARK MARINA. Couple of good sections in there.

Several times, great lake, love it. Stayed both in KY. & TN. & strongly suggest you stay / fish in TN. KY. has some good fishing, in my opinion better for crappie than bass. I have always done better in TN. & it has plenty of both species + more & bigger smallmouth. If you stay in KY. you will be closer to & can swing on over to BARKLEY which is a very good lake for both also. But, KY. side is much shallower overall, can be difficult to find deeper water & more difficult ( DANGEROUS IN MANY AREAS ) to navigate.

Will they help or hurt the lakes I can't say. But if I could get a line & a bet down in Vegas I could make a lot of money. We are fighting a battle we will not win as the pleasure boaters & jet-skiers simply " DON'T GIVE A S_ _T " !!!!!!!

Have a couple of groups staying with us @ our resort since Saturday, they are regulars that come down twice a year spring & fall & fish for nothing but Bluegill & normally do very good. This week started out slow for them during the day with very few caught, &, good for them in the evenings. But starting yesterday ( WEDNESDAY ) they started catching them both AM & PM with most being large, they have made several comments about how big they are on average this year as compared to previous years. Seems like as the water has warmed & the wind has died the " GILLS ARE MOVIN ON UP " !!!!!!! Don't want to give away any exact spots but check the point that falls in between POINT #6 & POINT #8 !!!!!!!

Good luck getting NO-WAKE BUOY'S. I checked into it several years ago, @ that time it about took an " ACT OF GOD " to get them. So I figured I would wait a while & see if they would simplify the process, well " WRONG AGAIN " the process has become more complicated. And if you fight through all the "RED TAPE & USACOE BS " & you are lucky enough to get them I hope you have a heavy check-book to cover the expense as " IT AIN'T CHEAP " !!!!!!!

OK, YA'ALL must have forgot who we are talking about here. This is a US GOVERNMENT RUN AGENCY, THE USACOE has never had a " CRISS & / OR MADE A MISTAKE & IF THEY DID THEY COULD / WOULD NOT MISHANDLE IT " GIVE ME 1 EXAMPLE " !!!!!!! They would never hire or employ anyone that was not really smart or had a great deal of common sense, I know I have been involved with them over the years & when " I GROW UP I WANT TO BE JUST LIKE THEM " !!!!!!!

For an all around line MY #1 CHOICE & RECCOMENDATION is YO-ZURI HYBRID, not the easiest to find but the best of both ( MONO. / FLUOR. ) worlds combined into one sweet line. You can get it @ either www.tackle warehouse.com or www.landbigfish.com BASS PRO SHOPS use to carry it but the last few times I have been in their store ( SPRINGFIELD, MO. ) I have not seen it & I cannot find it on their WEB-SITE.

Wonder if the " THE FEW, THE PROUD, THE ELITE OF COMMON SENSE, THE ONE & ONLY USACOE knows that they have these things called gates over @ the DAM &, if they open them, a little & a little water runs out, a lot & a lot of water runs out ( THERES A CLUE FOR THEM ) that they can control it. " WHAT A NOVEL IDEA " !!!!!!!

My trailer hitch is in " REAL BAD SHAPE " actually falling apart, rusty pieces falling off, so I think it's unsafe @ any speed & needs to be replaced. Looking for a " GOOD SHOP " that sells & installs trailer hitches in the Branson, Branson West, Hollister, Kimberling City area. Suggestions would be appreciated. THANKS

Take it for what it is worth. In my opinion their rating system is very flawed. The last 2 years they sent me a list of lakes & asked me to rank them, very few in MO. & many more in other states that I have never heard of. The lakes I am familiar with I ranked while the ones I was not I did not. If enough people rank lakes they are unfamiliar with just to complete the survey ( WHICH IN MY HUMBLE OPINION IS WHAT HAPPENED ) the rankings can & will be will be useless. A quick example, LOZ 96 out of 100 " REALLY " !!!!!!! I have followed & reviewed their rankings for the last 3 years & it has become more skewed & useless over that time. So this year I removed those pages from the magazine & am keeping them in the bathroom to serve a better purpose. So, again, in my humble opinion there ranking system is " FUBAR " !!!!!!!

I would suggest the 9 TO 5 shift. That's 9:00 PM TO 5:00 AM eliminates all the morons, well at least 98% of them.
