  1. I keep saying the ladies will live so much longer than we will!
  2. Merry Christmas Ronnie!
  3. Agree I have dropped live traps into Pat's garden pond to drown coons. It is really clear and not fun to watch the struggle. I have done many drowning sets for coon, mink, beaver and muskrats but I was not there to watch. The correct placed shot is much quicker. When I used to skin I did not like the mess a shot animal presented though.
  4. Coyote tries to drag young child on Woodland Hills front lawn (yahoo.com)
  5. The .25 cal. Pellet rife is very efficient in or out of the trap.
  6. Thanks Mic and in case @Flysmallie thinks I forgot,
  7. Does your canine best friend take care of trespassing felines Ronnie?
  8. Don't need a yote to control pests.
  9. You are supposed to get upwind and blow downwind 😁. I'm sure you did it the right way.
  10. Hit seven below on truck thermometer on way home from town stuff. Crossing I-49 at Milo Exit the off and on ramps are covered. Main highway traffic moving pretty fast. North South roads in open areas are clear. Where snow has blown clear off road and has freeze dried and not slippery. Where trees have slowed down wind there is two to three inches of snow there. Drive careful you all.
  11. Words of my good friend Brad. Got to be tough when you're stupid. Nothing stopping Santa Claus delivering gifts. Walmart a side track. VID_20221222_095756551.mp4
  12. I'm a bit north of you @Quillback. You still have time to get out and fish some before this gets to you. @Dutch if you hurry over I'm sure Jeff will take you out.
  13. NO! Actually, sadly the bed (futon) broke down and has not been replaced. It's been inside sleeping this year. I am enjoying the trips to the bathroom now. 😁
  14. 17 here. Wind really howling. Going to be 30 to 40 mph here and wind chills -39 today. Have plate of biscuits and gravy getting built right now. Fatten up and hibernate time.
  15. Always something to do round here. Just need the gumption to do it. I am beginning to miss my gumption.
  16. Look what happened when that chair and tarp and knapping tools with rocks were left out today. Looked so lonely and gave it some love. A 3.5 inch Dalton was found in a piece of Peoria chert from Oklahoma and a Snyder's/Hopewell out of a Jefferson city chert nodule picked up on Truman lake last summer. It was 3 inches.
  17. Dang Jeff go man go! I too am glad you got out today for a fix before this crap happens tonight and tomorrow.
  18. All legal massacres. We don't like poachers in the hood. No killing on dry ponds this year though.

    Ho, Ho, Ho

I really could care less if we have a tree or not. Grandkids are grown now. One greatgrand but she could care less. The doctor Pat works with told Pat last year if she didn't put up a tree she was going to put one up for us.😆. We have had years we put the gifts under Decembear.
  20. You never know what happens in the boonies. Stay close to town you are safer there Rick.
  21. Bet those clothes are warm. My mom made me a Buckskinner type peasant shirt. I should try to find it. Not sure it would fit though. Pat bought What I would call a June Cleaver dress. I really like it, but she has not worn it out yet. I have Wards fedora hat and actually wear it out at times. I have had people I don't know women included complement me on it. What a hoot!
  22. I have done both. Since I have one set that go in my jet and prop boats, I pull pedestal with seat attached and turn upside down and put in back of truck tight against bed.
  23. Duane Doty and Blake Harris made the trip from the metropolis of the wider Branson area to visit yesterday. What a nice Suprise. Blake came wide eyed hearing stories of what Duane had seen here in past visits. Duane came bearing gifts even and he makes a good skinny Santa Claus. I had sent Duane a picture of big Louie and it came back in a different form. A loss of words from me is an understatement. Amazing, Then there was a bag of 2022 baits and one is a new color release and I think I'm the first to possess it , then there was a return of what I gave Duane a few years back. Some highly figured curly maple and a cherry burl. Now that you are turning pens you may want this back. The guy is like a savings account or a safety deposit box! More of another boomerang item in a few. So, Blake Harris is wanting to make and shoot a primitive self-bow. I brought out some made by me, and a couple gifted to me by a dear friend. We checked those out and three of the stone points I used to harvest deer with. Eyes got opened up even more when Blake said a want to do that too. It is a great feeling to see and be asked questions about something near and dear to my heart. About them Duane said Marty do you remember that Osage orange bow stave you gave me years ago? Yes, I do man that has been a long time ago. Well, I kept it and my brother had it for a while and I would like to give it to Blake. Again, the heart strings were tugged at. Well heck yes! Then it was out to the shop to break chert. Flintknapping is nothing that you are going to learn instantly. Which brings this up Duane also gifted a moose Billet I had gifted Duane a couple years ago. Blake is set now to carry on two new hobbies. Chert was flying off through the air with strikes of moose billets. A preform started to shape until I hit a platform and it broke in half where a tiny hidden fossil created a bad spot. Enough of the preform was left to make a small side notched dart point. Blake said he had been watching videos on knapping and he had seen and learned more watching me for the short time he had here. I really think he has the bug now and will be doing big things. I hope he picked up some things without being totally confused. Back into the house and broke out display cases of original old points Pat and I found hunting them which is another thing Blake likes to do. After that it was time for them to head back Southeast but not before I got Blake some chert for him to bash on learning his new trade. I am so blessed to have friends and make new friends from this forum. I can hardly wait until Blake makes his first self-bow and points. He now has an open-door policy to come back, and we will break some rock together.
