  2. Sorry to hear @jdmidwest. Condolences from Pat and me.
  3. Congrats Dan! Very nice man.
  4. GI's in the forties did the drawing where they were deployed and visited.
  5. With the conflict in Ukraine, I got to thinking about these songs as Putin started his saber rattling about nukes,
  6. Oh, how fun! I am beginning to wonder who is having the most fun doing this? The boys or Daddy .
  7. Oh, and yes fresh restored iron plus some in the oven ready to season and sone in the e-tank cleaning. Plus, more ready to e-tank and a table you cannot see with more finished stuff .
  8. Depending on the gun you purchase. The newer ones charge at 250 bar which is if I remember right is 3625 plus PSI. Scuba tanks for diving can only be charged to 3000 PSI. You are kind of shooting yourself in the foot with a Scuba Tank. You need a 4500 PSI tank. See if you can find a firefighters SCBA tank with some time left on the test. Mine like I said is outdated but no damage, but I fill myself. Or you can go to Air Tanks For Sale Discounts for PCP (Pre-Compressed-Pneumatic) Air Gun by AirTanksForSale Don't have a coronary event looking here. I did buy my SCBA hose assembly here though for my tank. Note this can be an expensive hobby but I like it and once you settle as I have just need pellets to feed the addiction.
  9. Ah nothing wrong with some greenery and sewing items in the man cave. I like the pallet board walls and burned plywood floors. Is that a monogram/embroidery machine for hats? I need a squirrel on a ball cap .
  10. OK sounds like a challenge Douglas. You use your .50 and I will use my .25 and we will see who means business. 😁
  11. Here are the tanks I have. The standing scuba tank is 300 PSI, The little Carbon Fiber is 4500 as is the SCBA decommissioned tank. The Scuba will not fill a higher end 250 bar gun. The little one will do one fill and the SCBA tank several fills. Just don't let your gun tank get lower than your regular pressure,
  12. This is why I wanted to suggest things for you to consider. It is not rocket science and some of these guys go to extremes to keep their compressor cool. Heat is the killer of them and like I said the little compressors work extremely hard to build up high pressure. The suggestion to get a tank for the rifle is valid. This will get you shooting and let someone else compress the air thus let you do some thinking on what you want. Google up paintball ranges to see if they pump. For 5 or 10 bucks to pump up a bit tank is a deal. I also have a Scuba tank that goes to 3000 psi and would tote it to Springfield anytime I went there to get it topped off before I got compressor. I will add tank pictures in a few minutes.
  13. I get it not trying to push you into anything buddy.

    What's Cooking?

    Looks great Ryan!
  15. Not quite right. they can be very quiet, and moderators can be purchased to quiet them down even more without the silencer "Tax".
  16. So yes, you can direct fill with compressor and there are ones out there very portable and can be ran on 12 volts. My Uncle does it all the time. I think about all of them have water separators, moisture filters and some automatic self-draining water traps. Compressors are a slippery slope. Much more than the rifle. They work so hard to make high pressure and there are some that do not last long, and need rebuilt from time to time. The Chinese Yong Heng is relatively cheap, and I have one and replaced the piston twice. Parts come on the slow boat from China though. I bit the bullet (pellet) and bought a better Scuba compressor finally. Have a decommissioned SCBA tank I keep filled. Do your research @Ketchup before buying. This is why I suggested the bigger tank route first IF you can get a fill station close. With the better PCP air rifle, you get so many shots with a good full tank it will give you time for research getting the compressor. 17. Just some food for thought. Be sure to shoot mine is you are willing. Any air rifle is easy to choose the hard part as you might know, and Wrench has mentioned is air storage and compressor. Before getting a compressor think hard about a good tank and getting filled at a paintball facility if you have one close that will to 4500 psi. Most scuba shops will only do 3000 psi which will not do you any good. There is or was one in Springfield that would do the 4500 psi, but he is hard to get ahold of.
  18. It is a good thing you are so committed and hardheaded because there are amazing things out there that if you shoot them might cause a divorce. Not from sugar britches but will cause you to stray from your beloved P-Rod. I thought I was happy with what I had until my uncle started bringing his various air projectile pushers. This caused me to stray and end up with what I have. I am really satisfied, really, really, really. I am not a target shooter but will just shoot some to stay sharp. I am a hunter . Grown tired of powder burners except for what is required for wing shooting. No hate for big boomers just not for me right now. @Ketchup You can shoot my crown anytime you want to.
  19. Nice, Great report Dan! Thanks.
  20. Yes, Happy birthday Jeff!
  21. The FX Crown in .25 cal. Wild native pecans you bet ya. Vernon County is well known for them. The seedlings you get from the licking nursery are from Vernon County nuts.

  23. Road trip about 20 miles Northwest of home for a little walk up a mixed pecan and oak tree line along a creek. Some places 100 yards wide. Not far from I-49 and with the east wind noise was terrible in the timber. You had to be pretty close to hear a squirrel so most of my time was looking ahead in trees and the canopy above. Grass and other short growing stuff in the timber anything on the ground you were right on top of them before you seen each other. In places it was like whack a mole and all you could see was a head pop up as the worked the forest floor. Squirrels were scattered but where you found one you could bet there was another close to it. fun hunt and it was a cool morning with very little wind. shots were from less than five yards to 40 plus. Constantly cranking up and down the scope power and focus but it went well. A couple doubles on the ground or within a couple foot of the ground checking out what had just shot its friend. The two longer shots that scored were three chasing up and down in a tree. All head shots and never lost an ounce of meat. Man, I like this air rifle. I quit at eight and even quit looking for more and back to truck. I missed one shot trying to thread one through some junk. Another strange deal all were females. Three of those had big teats. The others looked like last winter/spring born. I did see one tiny fall born one which offered no shot. Had a cooler back at the truck. Dead end road I found a tree that offered some shade. I sat on a bucket, hung my string from tailgate and cleaned and broke them down right there. Into bags and cooler. At home I washed up the sections. Lots of good lean meat here. I literally love chasing and stalking these guys. Eating them too!
