  1. It's really hard to make you happy, isn't it?
  2. I read that article this morning too. Funny as heck. Yes, it's a gray! So more to the story grey squirrels were introduced over there. So here is my take on it. Conspiracy theory @fishinwrench should agree since he is into that kind of thing. We have weaponized the grey squirrel to wreak havoc on those poor folk because the stinking common carp of theirs was sent over here. It's all payback, let them destroy the eco system and chase the sissies around . There are many pest shooting videos out there where tons of grey squirrels are being shot by air guns across the pond. Folks in the United Kingdom are limited to 12-foot pounds of energy on the air rifles they shoot. And Mr. Wrench what the heck? There are no red squirrels in Missouri. Get it right my boy they are fox squirrels. You are as bad as those guys that lump all sunfish together and call them brim. @Johnsfolly just shudders at the thought as I do red squirrels! HA! Oh, and I have a new toy that has to do with my air gun hobby. Not going to tell you because you think I am crazy. Signed Red Squirrel my rear
  3. All I know about solar panels is from talking to fellow campers in Yellowstone. We were in a part of the park for three days and two nights where you could not run a suitcase generator/inverter which we have. So, a couple had a pull camping trailer with a foldable solar panel. Pretty cold at night and in morning could hear their furnace going on and off. Ours in the overhead camper saps our battery quick and two nights and we would be done. I asked about their set up. Harbor freight one. Fold out during day and put up at night. More than what they need. Tops off battery and have more than they need for a night running everything needed. Before next trip whenever Pat gets time off (nobody wants to work) we will have one . Driving from place to place we parallel truck and camper battery and truck charges camper. When parked we disconnect the two. Have drained both when we didn't and had to charge with generator/inverter to go again! Never want to rely on that deal.

  12. Neither one was necessary just both instances the sight window was slim. No time to waste.
  13. Actually, robins are year around residents in Missouri. This year is abnormal as all of us know. My bees are flying everyday it gets above the upper forties. Even though I left them plenty of honey stores it bothers me when they are out there is nothing for them out here right now. So, a hundred yards from the hive made a bucket feeder and am supplementing by feeding sugar water. Plan was only doing this because five of my hives are first year. Two hives have had for two years this coming spring. @jdmidwest can weigh in more about this. I'm a newbie but had a 6 1/4-gallon harvest. Bee keeping is fun.

    What's Cooking?

Smells good in here right now, Time for Carnita meat. With wild turkey, you know the parts not worth keeping. Too much trouble . Salting the pieces, Pot full of herbs and spices. Arbol peppers, cumin, bay leaves, cinnamon, cloves. Broke out the mortar and pestle and crack coriander, black peppercorns and juniper berries. Mild weather let me go to herb garden and pick Mexican oregano. Meat into pot and cover with water. Get hot and simmer. in four more or less cool some and pick meat off the bones. There will be carnitas for New Year's Eve feast.
