Gosh fellows I don't know what to tell you. They all went out last to you last week. Guess you will have to call Fed Ex and see what happened. . Sent them with your screen names general delivery. Suppose you all want clousers or wiggle minnows now? I will get them right out also. BilletHead
-
Tying Clousers as we speak . Did eight wiggle minnows yesterday. Looking back through a few photos Mrs. BilletHead and I had a very good day on a shoal in Oklahoma on march 29th last year. Yep we need some rain badly for a run here in Missouri, BilletHead

Thanks for the report Wily, I made the trip back over last Wednesday. Found the WT just like you did. Started fishing a couple miles above the gravel road ramp where we had our best luck from the trip before. Caught a few there but more just below the gravel road bridge ramp on same side as the ramp. Ended up with twenty, two fishermen. No one was tearing them up that day as far was we could see. Four caught trolling looking for fish, the rest pounding the muddy banks with small crank baits after we found a concentration of fish. Fire tiger and purple back Flicker shad. Passing time waiting for them to hit the shoals so I can break out the fly rod, BilletHead

HA ha buddy, I planted seeds in starter trays right after you did. Thought I was behind. Learned one thing. Never follow Ness. Just slowly drag your feet behind him. Well this should mean plant seeds in another three weeks . Ok I do in all honestly have lettuce starts two inches tall. That is all so far well kind of. My chestnut seeds started sprouting in the bag in the crisper drawer. Have some of those in pots now too. in the shop out of this cold snap. 21 degrees this morning in BilletHeadVille. BilletHead

TU asks for Help on Dawt Mill Dam
BilletHead replied to grizwilson's topic in North Fork of the White River
Yes but tell that to some. Remember how freaked out folks got when not too many years ago some of those striped fish got stuck in the trout holes up river? I remember and everyone was concerned and wanted them killed out. Catch and release for trout and catch and kill for stripers . Temperate lives matter! BilletHead -

My, my yes for sure. Even a ten to chuck those meaty flies. Trout is just another word for shad A very expensive stocked bait in places . Yes I know NFOW are stream bread rainbows. Actually like most on here I like trout also. So I would like both to make it. For us to catch and stripers to feast on making them giants, BilletHead -

Me too Wrench, Might not be too popular for some of us thinking that way though. Trout non native/striper non native flip a coin and let the strongest survive I suppose. BilletHead -

Maybe? In the great words of Ness, DANG They could get up there in high water, now noting to stop them correct me if I am wrong. BilletHead -
Them there are some nice groceries down there. Do you drool on the window? I would. Have not seen any out our window lately but hearing them and seeing them away from the house, BilletHead

Hammers are Ok. No way of accidental firing coming out. Maybe going back in. If you get into a bad a situation where you have to pull it out it should be empty before you need to put it back . BilletHead

Boy this went sideways fast! Gee wiz John I figured with that big fish smile you had been spending extra time in that mentioned room . Maybe she would be changing the locks to keep you on the inside. A kept man, yes that is really the mystery answer. You have to sneak out for rest and fishing is the cover story, BilletHead is bored and having fun at John's expense this morning
-
Congrads on the retirement, seems like there are others ready to do than on here too. BilletHead
-
She even had enough time to have the locks changed. Reckon John would of had that smile like holding the green sunfish when he got home and couldn't get in the house? BilletHead

Thank you stranger. Nice of you to visit again, BilletHead

Well things will stunt and slow down this week . 78 here today in BilletHeadVille. 25 tomorrow night called for. Will be colder than that I bet. Crocus, Daffodils will turn to mush. The Spring peepers peeping out my back door will freeze their peppers off. The little Japanese lady bugs will crawl back into the cracks they just came out of but I hope they freeze first ! Scary warm today and I knew we would pay for it. Shrooming will happen sometime if we get rain. Oh yes that and maybe snow too this week, BilletHead

Hey you all, The BilletHead has a question. As some of you know I help Reel Recovery. A retreat for men that have, or in remission or that have been cured of cancer. The Missouri retreat is is coming up in April. We are short on participants. Have three committed and we need a solid seven to make it fly. This is free to these men. Men unlike the women are somewhat hesitant to apply. It isn't in our DNA to think we may need to do things like this. I have reached out to some I know of on the forums asking if they might like to attend. So do any of you that have thought you may like to attend? I for one have seen what it can do for them. Have seen in more of a personal respect what a program like this did for Mrs. BilletHead in the Women's retreat (Reeling and Healing) that has seemed to go the way of the dinosaur now here in Missouri because of funding. We that help are all volunteers and not on any payroll. We make the time and our way over to help. So please if anyone may like to attend or even donate no matter how little think about it. You can PM me or I will provide a link so that you can see about the program and you can ask questions there also. Thanks fellow OA members and if you do a donation please earmark it for the Missouri retreat. Arkansas retreat if you must . Shameless plug I know. Please do not hold it against me, The BilletHead http://reelrecovery.org/

Bresaola This air-dried beef is common in the mountainous regions of northern Italy. a very lean, intensely flavored preparation, it's usually sliced paper-thin and drizzled with olive oil and lemon juice. You might serve it with PArmigiano- Reggiano, some greens, and thin slices of toasted baguette. If possable, use grass-fed or organically raised beef when making. "Quoted from the book" BilletHead

Oh gentlemen, Just isn't the young girls. The Mrs. BilletHead wants pink and purple flies tied all the time. Especially hoppers and she catches as many trout as I do out West on them. I must admit using the "pink pookie" many times . That and I am sure I will be making her an articulated fluke/worm in pink and purple shades. BilletHead
-
Thanks fellows, Hey snagged with your pedigree I figured you had several rods and fly tackle boxes dedicated to the green bass . On to important stuff now. What does a guy do once he ties a new fly or streamer? Well you have to go to water and try it out. see here they like the white sparkly one. Landed ten and had another nice one hooked but he came unbuttoned. Want proof of a couple that were landed? See here is one with a mouth full of the new tie, , An then drum roll please, and today's winner is at a full 21 inches long, a little piggy, Just think what I could do if I had one tied up in Fishinwrench bubblegum pink? BilletHead

To any interested did a quick step by step on the fly recipes. BilletHead

XP 590 wanted some info on this fly I have been catching bass on. So I thought I would do a quick step by step. Fish shanks size 10,15 and 20 MM. 6/0 thread color of your choice Dubbing. I like the way sheep hair works mixed with some flash (ice dub) Here I am going with plain white sheep. Have used synthetics and other dubbing mixes, again sheep mixes flow nicely in the water. On this one I use a Gamakatsu B10 stinger Chuck up the smallest shank and make a dubbing loop then spin it up and brush it up fluffy. Stroke the dubbing to one side and wrap up the shank and whip finish, Section one brushed out, Connect to next shank size and repeat dubbing process. Two shanks finished and brushed out with my velcro brush, Repeat again with third shank, Rigging the hook. There is several ways this could be done. Wire and bead etc. I use a wire form made for pouring lead spoons. Snip it in half and attach to your hook, Hook the three sections you made and close gap. Again repeat the dubbing process on this final section. Thus making four sections. You could do as many as you want I like this make up the most. Depending on the length of your hair on dubbing lengths will determine the fluke total length. Here is some I have done.Smallest on here three and a half up to five and a half inches long. Never had much of a problem whit any fowling just fish inhaling this too deep like a plastic worm. Not mush different than game changer articulated streamers. Just more worm like and no need to trim up to look fishy. They take their own shape, I kind of just threw a generic name to this but it is more like a fluke. It sinks very slow and I just jerk it back. It compresses some on the strip and at the pause it kind of fluffs back out. Strip and repeat the pause. It will dart side to side and undulate in the water. I guess some lead or a larger hook would let it sink faster but I like the hovering effect of this size. Bass love it and have caught some real dandy pig bluegill with it too, Maybe glue on some eyes? Make it your own and modify to suit your needs and share your methods please, BilletHead
