  1. Got to bypass the collar with the Mrs. After a few treats she just does it automatically. You being so overwound I thought you might need zapped. We could set it for sound alarm and if you ignore the fetch command and you balk, well then ZAAAAAAP. 🤪. BilletHead
  2. No, no, no, You will only need to tote the little tank. I will even supply the backpack DJ. Another question for you. Are you trained to fetch or do I need the shock collar so I can zap you once and awhile for force fetching? I may have to defer to Quillback for guidance on this issue:) . Are you a good swimmer? Teal season starts in less than two months. It won't be too bad then because the water is still warm. This will allow you to work into winter waterfowl slowly:) Come to think of it we may a shock collar anyway you look at it to calm you down at Jig Fest, BilletHead
  3. Just be careful when setting the hook as they are very soft mouths . Not much meat on them either. Once you gut and skin not much left, BilletHead
  4. JD, My grandmother said they ate many hawks during hard times. Said the breast was white meat. Is Grandma right JD? Come on buddy I want to know :), BilletHead
  5. Too many predators around BilletHeadVille. Got three bunnies around the house now. An owl every evening behind the house looking . In the front another small raptor working the area during the daylight house. They will not last at his rate for winter groceries , BilletHead
  6. Same weekend you went, Those demolition derby cars were faster and more exciting events. Formula one Pffft, BilletHead
  7. I knew you would cave and be my mule! HA! Not like that race you were just at but Nascar Right? , BilletHead
  8. Or call it a critter getter, Well we know there are some air gun boys on here now. Well the BilletHead ended up with one by good fortune. I am not much of a target shooter but have been practicing for securing meat. How did I get this new Man toy? I have an uncle (John). He had bought this Benjamin Discovery a year ago from this past Spring. Up grading from cocking air rifles. He is in his mid to late seventies and not the man he used to be. Even cocking could be a chore for him. The PCP was the next step. So before his annual Spring trip he gave me a call. Hey Marty you want my Discovery? Well depends, first of all how much and why are you getting rid of it? His response, I am giving it to you and I have purchased the Benjamin Marauder. As a matter of a fact he had bought one of those in .22 and.25 caliber plus the marauder .22 pistol 😀. So there was only one stipulation. I needed to get an air tank for charging it. So he shows up this Spring all his stuff in tow. I look it over and we shoot all of his toys. I see this right off this could be fun. I go to looking at prices for tanks and about have a heart attack. Time to start to save I thought. John is staying with Mom and I get a call one Evening. Hey Marty I got another deal for you. How would you like one of my small tanks? I will make you a deal, I don't need two of them. So how does 250 bucks sound? I look up the price of this carbon fiber tank. 380 bucks. Plus another long filler hose that is over three foot long, a two footer retails for 70 bucks. All of this for 250. It is full of air too . This tank holds 90 cubic inches and 4500 psi. So yes I did not pass this up and my air rifle journey began, did I mention this rifle has a scope? . So I get it home and proceed to shoot the snot out of it. Zero it at 30 yards and do not notice any drop until after forty yards. At fifty I hold over about an inch to inch and a half. Now to making meat, I get quite a few charges from this small portable tank but have emptied it twice. Found a scuba shop in Springfield that would charge it back to the 4500 PSI for six bucks. Did that the first time and the second time I went down there he was not around. Found another scuba shop that filled it for same price but they would only fill it to 3000 PSI. Now I have another dilemma. I don't go to the city very often so while we were down there I called a third shop for questions. How much is a scuba tank and can I get a used one? Lady said as fast as we get the used ones in the door they go right out. There is a waiting list. So how much for a new one? I about fainted. We got ready to leave town and I guess my sad face triggered a response from the Mrs. She says you know you want it, Lets go get it over with. No I will wait until later. No we will get it now. Whatever you say dear. You do know babe I will need an adaptor to go on the tank valve and it will need to be ordered. Whatever she said. So I get me a scuba tank, lady at the store says you know you need an adaptor for filling? Yes I do and will have to order one. Then she says I have one. Whaaaaat? Yes just got it in. I needed one to charge small tanks from my scuba tanks. Some guy bought the one I had so I had to order another. I said what's that going to cost me? She gives me the price and it is cheaper than what I could order it for. Guess what it went home to BilletHeadVille too. She put a sticker on it says for paintball only, why? Well she cannot fill for diving unless you are certified but can fill for other uses, Go figure. It is 80 cubic foot and can only be charged to 3000 PSI. So how much to fill this beast? Same six bucks . I am thinking I am set for life, So is there an end to this story? NO as I got a call from John about a month ago. Hey Marty I got another deal for you. What the heck? More on this another day. In the mean time I did more grocery shopping today, A young one and I needed lunch anyway. A dusting in seasoned flour and a quick fry in canola oil I had infused with Thai peppers, Next . How I became an air gunner story over for now, BilletHead
  9. Says the man with the drone . Get after him Ronnie! BilletHead
  10. I am a bit worried after this post being brought back up about Wrench is looking at your b(posterior). I would be watching your backside Ronnie . Like Wrench I have been just using the cell and need though to get back to the little pocket camera, BilletHead
  11. Thinking maybe at JigFest if I get to go again we may have to have a goose fajita feast to go along with everything else , BilletHead
  12. One thing about it you took a bunch of pictures with it. Many more than we have with ours over the years, BilletHead
  13. Dang! I was planning on when I become older and more feeble than I am now using you for my driver and porter in exchange for unlimited access to my honey holes . Can you imagine the effort that would be? We would start with you leaving the spinning rod and jerk baits at home. hahhahahahaha BilletHead
  14. Dang RPS, Bummer but luckily you had a visual on the problem. Could of been hidden and turned into a real disaster. I have had that happen on one of those water scamp two man toy boats. Down stream from launch. Anyone tried to paddle with a net upstream? It can be done in panic mode, BilletHead
  15. One thing I remember is as the fish takes the line it winds the spring tighter. I started with a reel like this. I have had many bass make a run and SNAP from the tight spring . If you thought quick enough you could release the tension with the knob. Fun memories bought from the sporting goods at Wal mart, BilletHead
  16. I got all excited for you oneshot. At first I thought she was going to find you a boat, Lowe brand. Hey the six pack doesn't sound too bad either, BilletHead

    What's Cooking?

Seasoning man, seasoning! It takes Italians to make dressing but anyone even you and I can make seasonings. I chose to buy .98 cents always save "ELCheapo" instead of using the BilletHead dried garden herbs. , BilletHead
  18. That's because all the stabbers got them first . Lumpy is the ring leader. Find out in episode 23 of season 3. Ward and June gets a divorce after finding out Beaver has been poaching on Beaver. Too many Walleye over the stabbing limit. BilletHead
  19. Can some of us pound it into your head ? In all seriousness this is really, really scary and at times I am not good at doing what I am supposed to and I fish solo allot, BilletHead
  20. Works real well Jim. The bottom of the feeder needs to be pretty close to the water so the beetles dropping through don't have time to take flight. Funny watching the beetles trying to swim the legs kind of come together and looks like a set of oars. Then it is too late , BilletHead

    What's Cooking?

Tho1mas, 8 to 12 hours depending on the humidity in your house. I have mine going and will rotate trays this afternoon and this evening and check for doneness in the morning. I put mine in zip locks and pitched in the back of the fridge. They say in jars or whatever you want to use. If not putting into fridge or freezer whatever you use make sure it seals so they wont pull moisture from the house. I think since I will have a goodly amount I will vac seal in bags. Maybe use something to measure exact amounts like one to four cups per bag. Try it friend I bet you will like the results. Only think that the tomato looses is water content and all is left is concentrated tomato flavor, BilletHead
  22. Oh Man, Twist my arm why don't you . We have another buddy who had a good time with the long rod yesterday at Taney. He just had to text me with results and I am glad he did! Getting ready for the Western journey in a couple of weeks but may have to do a little wade trip next week on Mrs. BilletHeads day off. Camper goes on tomorrow and don't want to haul the boat all over with that on the truck. Thanks for sharing this Ham, BilletHead

    What's Cooking?

What's this got to do with what's cooking?, Maybe more like what will be cooking? So this cold winter when this hot oppressive weather is out of our thoughts there will be a taste of summer . Dehydrated some tomatoes in the past and found a recipe to use them in. it was a tomato bisque soup. I had not done that many and we only got to try it once. That will not happen again. The dehydrator is up and running. Every extra tomato not eaten fresh or given away will be shrunk to a miniature of what it once was. When dried it is like eating tomato candy. As they shrink and dry it is hard not to pluck one out and eat it. I am getting the perfect slice by using the slicer I use when making jerky. A hard maple board with maple runners on the sides. Then using a super sharp big dexter carving knife it is like cutting butter, The trays are loaded up and then a few salt crystals on each slice. Use some Elcheapo Italian seasoning too on them, All five trays going. When you walk by the dehydrator it smells so good, BilletHead
  24. Nothing special about the photographer or the pictures but thought some of you might get a kick out of these. Made a self serve feeder for the koi pond. The little bass and green sunfish were so quick getting the Japanese beetles the koi didn't have a chance. They finally learned and now hover under the opened bottom bag just waiting. BilletHead
  25. Neat, Nice to have a few around to someday get a chance to see. I do have to say though there is allot of crap we read on this forum but this is the first pile anyone has posted. , BilletHead
