We used Lightfoot, Nemo, and both State Park ramps with no trouble. It is a bit dicey getting back to pick up a passenger in some spots.
The repairs are supposed to take till May. Rain will fill her up if we get any.
You will find a few docks scattered around the lake. Most are in the cove at Hawker. There are about 30 of them and as they disappear they will not be replaced. Some day there won't be any of them left.
I talked to a guy yesterday about the lake condition. He said about the 13 mile mark was as far as he could get up the Pom. and Pittsburg landing up the Lin.
The courtesy docks are barely to unusable. The water has stabilized and risen a few inches.
Sorry but I don't know about the fishing right now. I'm headed that way in a few hours myself.
It is perpetuated by the people who make money from the sport. If there were as many people fishing walleye tournaments as bass tournaments then you'd be turning the eyes back so you wouldn't feel bad. If you want um, eat um.
People used to keep the bass at the end of a tournament and eat them like the guys in other species tournaments.
If you are talking about fishing from shore below the dam, you can get to it even if the road is closed. When they close it you are only stopped from crossing the dam. You can access the other area from the east or the west depending on which side you want to fish.
For me the most importnat thing would be are they running water. If they aren't then not many fish seem to come up the river.
Have you tried below the Truman Dam?
There seems to be little logic as to whether or not it is open. I have been by it many times during a two week period and sometimes it will be open and sometimes closed.
The lake is stable and if we get rain it will start coming back up. I was there yesterday and it was a sight to see with all the docks barely in the water or on dry land and the courtesy docks at the ramps tilted, slanted and/or dry. Next time I go back I'm going to take some rubber boots.
Something you may also want to consider is what is showing may not be directly under the boat. Remember that your soundings go out in an ever widening cone. Anything picked up and returned to the unit will be shown on the right side even is it is not.
With the lake down 4' like Trav stated, it will be very touchy trying to get up the streams. There are a few crossovers that may not float a boat if it is very heavy.
Seems fine to me. I used to pay $1, when $1 was worth something, just to drive through the gate at Asher's Cane Bottom.
I just wish I were where I could charge for creek access. We've already moved the fence where people can park but that doesn't keep them from tearing down the fences.
