We launched at Stockton Park and motored to Hartley. We got on fish outside of a point and picked up 3. On the inside we picked up a couple more. Then it got tough. We would get a bite about every quarter of a mile. We used various plastics and had bites but could only get hookups on worms. We hit some bluff ends but got nothing. We moved into Hawker and caught a few more. It was a tough day with 10 bass and 1 walleye. Here are the best 2 fish.
Some pretty good information there. How far down is the white bass population? In 2002 there was a major die off of whites on Bull Shoals and at Pomme de Terre in 2008. I’ve been wanting to hear about it on the Rock.
I have more than I will ever use in 2/0, 3/0, and 4/0. They sell for over $.50 each at Bass Pro. I will sell them for $.25 each for quantities under 100 and $.15 for quantities over 100 (mix or match). Shipping will be what ever the post office charges.
Some nice ones there. Were those brown fish in the brush or just the green ones? I poured some flukes yesterday and plan to use them on top of brush for a while and see if any will come up. If not then I’ll go down.
Sounds to like you need some nitrogen. Mix up some miracle grow and water them. If you can get it put a couple of inches of composst on the garden and till it in before next spring. I even put it on my yard after aeration.
I’m no Phil but here’s how I do it and mine aren’t mushy. I’ve been doing it this way for lots of years for my wife and I and groups as large as 75.
1. cut the boneless fillets into at least 2 pieces
2. soak them in a mixture of milk, egg and mustard
3. put corn meal into a gallon zip lock bag and drop the pieces into it
4. zip the bag and gently move it around coating each piece
5. place each piece into my hot canola oil Fry Daddy or fish fryer depending on amount being cooked
6. cook until golden brown (don’t over cook)
I had business in Stockton yesterday so I drove by the ramps in that area. Hawker-courtesy dock is in and good water color. Stockton Park-courtesy dock is in and good water color. Crabtree Cove-courtesy dock is in and the water is super clear.
I went home on Hwy 245. The area around Cedar Ridge looks like coffee with cream added. I did not check the courtesy dock.
There was 1 rig at Hawker, 1 at Stockton and 2 at Crabtree.
My comes by motor tech and my small engine guy both recommend it so that is what I do. A few bucks here and there don’t amount to much in the grand scheme of things.
