  1. I have. It is a bit thicker. I can feel the difference. The fish don’t seem to care. It is also a little more unruly but a shot of Real Magic took care of that and increased the casting distance.
  2. No idea. It was the same age and kept in the same place as I keep all of my line in my bait locker in the garage. I have 8, 10, 12, 15 and 20 in there. They all are good. I buy once a year when BPS does the 1/2 off sale. I hope the Yozuri hybrid holds up as this summer for me it’s been Ned or nothing.
  3. Any one been out there and seen activity? My first trip was fun but the second was a bust.
  4. All of my 6# Seaguar Red label fluorocarbon had gone bad. The Yozuri hybrid arrived and I put it on 2 setups for a test run. I fished it where I had lost 15 Neds last week. I never had a single break off. I put it on 3 more setups and tried it on Stockton, not a single break off. One more trip back to Table Rock yesterday did finally get me my first break off. In the mix of things I did have two times that Gamakatsu 1/0 hooks broke at the bend but not the line. I think that this 6# Yozuri is a keeper if it’s strength lasts.
  5. It is a pilot’s license that the Corps issues after you pass a test on boater safety and regulations. Thus you have a license to operate a boat for hire with paying passengers.
  6. I’ve only been around them a few times and never near. We had 5 pb crosses show up at one of our farms. They were pretty wild but always seemed to be found near our cattle. Their numbers became less over time until there were 0. I heard that they died of lead poisoning.
  7. Thanks. It sure beat the one and two fish that I have been getting at Stockton. That’s why I keep a cooler of ice water and an Endura cloth this time of year.
  8. We got there early but needn’t have because of the fog. You could only see a few yards. It was an hour before I got to where I wanted to fish. I hit a few spots and moved up stream. Twice moving up the fog became thick again. I had a couple of blow up but no hookups on a buzz bait. No love on the spinnerbait. A few fish bumped a worm but none took it. I pulled out the doodle as Bo called it and started catching fish. In 3 1/2 hours I managed 10 spots and 3 greenies. 3 were keepers. I would soak my Endura cloth in ice water and within 15 minutes it would be hot. 20 casts after # 13 were fruitless so I put out the fire and called the dogs. My birds showed 88-90° for water temp. Air temp was 71-89°. Green pumpkin was the color of the day.
  9. That’s how some of the small fishing shops do with reels, etc. I saw a guy at BPS Outlet with a dozen or so reels. I asked him about them and he told me that he had bought and sold hundreds through his shop.
  10. That’s what we used to call Yankee ingenuity. It looks great.
  11. I keep it simple. I like living rubber jigs in brown or black. The size of the jig depends on how deep I am having to fish. I make my jigs with a 4/0 hook. My trailers vary but much of the time it is a twin tail grub. Another old school bait that I really like is a Gene Larew black or plumb Texas rigged salt craw. I prefer the 6” size with a 5/0 hook.
  12. Gotcha. If you were looking for a 6.5 I know where you could get a deal complete with a 2500 Shimano Symmetry.
  13. What’s it rated for hp wise. I couldn’t tell the motor size.
  14. What length of rod are you wanting? Why not stick with Avid since you like them? What reel are you pairing with the rod?
  15. I think Hwy 7 is about as scenic as you can get in AR. Not familiar with the eats in that neck of the woods.
  16. Nice eye. It has been several years since I have caught a Table Rock walleye.
  17. Did you find you a rod builder?
  18. We used to go to Rockaway every Saturday morning, get there before dawn, catch trout, head home and have them for breakfast. That was good eating.
  19. Nice looking trout. Do you C&R or eat?
  20. Mill Creek down by KC or Campbell Point?
  21. Wow heck of a string for any time of the year. Congrats
  22. We wound up catching 34 but only 2 were bonafide keepers. A couple of others would have been measured before going back if there had been a monetary reason involved. I’m hoping for half that today as the boss will be today’s passenger and she doesn’t fish any longer.
  23. So that’s where the keepers are. My neighbor and I fished between Cape Fair and Thompson on Tuesday. We caught fish on plastics all day long but keepers were rare.
  24. So how did it go for you on Wednesday? I’m heading down in about an hour.
