  1. Well done. I was just wondering if this warm weather had the patterns a bit screwed up.
  2. I know what you're saying.
  3. At least they are going to use Neoshos.
  4. The mobile interface is very hard to navigate. Where are the subforums? I can't seem to find the Smallmouth forum, General Angling Discussion, etc.
  5. Paul, those should work!
  6. Upstate is gorgeous! Everyone should be so lucky to travel up there. Al, which rivers, if you don't mind me asking.
  7. That's fantastic! I'd love to get back to that part of the country, not NYC, but the ADK area.
  8. OP, that looks like a Morrum 3600, they are fantastic! The 1600 size is on my short list of reels to acquire. Fish 24/7, I'm looking for a few projects if you wanted to free up some space. Wrench, I have two 300 and one 301. I can't imagine spinning them that fast.
  9. No salt, just wanting to add some smoothness to the oldest. It'll likely get a dual bearing level wind, a dual bearing supported idler cog and possibly Abec 5 spool bearings in the end plates. It should cast much further and retrieve smoother. It's quite geary right now when retrieving. I tried grease on the drive gear, level wind gear, idler gear and oil in the two ball bearings and a drop to the level wind. Better, but not quite like the Royals. If I come across the right deal on a better reel, I'll just strip this one down and clean it, lube it and toss it on a rod.
  10. Does anyone on here still use their old round reels? I have fallen for the Ambassadeurs. My oldest is currently a 1989 4600C that is going to get probably 8 more bearings this winter, but I am currently using my 4600 Royal Expresses for my everyday fishing mounted on an early Berkley Tactics 6' pistol grip and a 5 year old Garcia Conolon Premier 6' M. They're nice, what with their 6.3 ratios compared to the older model's 5.x ratio. I'm hoping to acquire a couple older models like the 1500C or 2500C soon and do a little work on them. I'm curious if anyone has and uses these reels and what rods you toss them on. if you have them and wanted to post pictures or just chat about them, let's do it.
  11. Holy hell, that thing is a beast! What'd she eat?
  12. LRF, I am jealous! Thanks for letting me hit the river this fall through your pictures.
  13. Gorgeous.
  14. Congrats and enjoy this time, it goes quick.
  15. I wouldn't overlook crankbaits, lipless cranks and even spinnerbaits. Having said that, you can still get on them with flukes and topwater some.
  16. Guys, that is stupendous. Those wipers are spectacular fish, but when they reach that size, they are scary strong. Well done!
  17. We shouldn't be worried about earthquakes with this frequency in an area with zero propensity for quakes? Hmm, you probably think drilling in ANWR is a good idea too, right? There is energy independence and there is suckling at the teat of the fossil fuel industry. Why not put that money into renewable energy, wind and solar? I doubt we run out of either.
  18. Go on and keep everything you catch, but I never want to see you complain about of quality of fishing in the river. Follow all laws, rules and regulations and I say live and let live.
  19. Nice fish Seth! I am jealous.
  20. It gave an idea anyway. Woodman, that downed tree looks awful fishy!

I keep these in my tackle bag and can't wait to use them next Friday.
  22. Those types of stretches are the ones memories are forged out of. The sweat and beers it must've taken to endure 14 miles of chunking and winding is impressive to say the least.
