  2. hey Harv, How ya been ol buddy?? Dang long time no see. Any way welcome to the forum, you will find lots of exciting things going on in here. And you willl find a little that will make you wanna grit your teeth. good luck at Montauk
  3. All these replys are on the money. Let me assure you, an all night tournament on LOZ in June, with boat traffic as it is, can be both phyically exhausting and mentally draining. Not a good place to start. I can't add anything to what has all ready been said.
  4. I for got to mention, 2 weeks ago 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers all relocated their fish from the Glaze back to the Osage. lol
  5. Well, Laker, that is a good point. I venture to say your numbers are way low, which is not the point. 3 years ago the Big Niangua was a hot honey hole, with lots of big fish being caught (and relocated to PB2, Linn Creek, Red Feather) The last 2 years has seen a decline in numbers of big ol bass on the Niangua. As for shooting ourselves in the foot, we just fish a different body of water, (and still move them to another area). Holpe I get to relocate 20 lbs this Sunday. lol I dunno, but this is food for thought.
  6. This is WAY to much work to make a trout fit to eat.
  7. I like it!!
  8. And on and on it goes, no matter the subject, it all comes down to Liberal vs Conservative. I am sick of this political BS being brought up in every topic. Yes, you are correct, if I don't like it, don't read it. There is always the "power off". Guess that is why I am only on here every few monthes, It never changes.
  9. of course I do. Ruger LCP, 380
  10. #1 knot failure #2 bad line #3 missing, cracked, or sharp edge on rod guide ceramic.
  11. Practice, Practice, practice. Don't give up!!!!
  12. This was indeed a strange sighting. "Twilight Zone" stuff.
  13. "big mouth buffalo"?????? how did I get that handle?
  14. Laker, I have heard this story several times and I must say this is the best. I got to hear and remember the details of that day. I don't care who you are this is truely a remarkable catch, a catch of a life time. And you, my friend, paid your dues and earned that catch. "you done good" I must add you were extremly fortunate in haveing people on the creek that did have stream courtesy, it is almost unheard of these days. Kinda the reason I don't trout fish nearly as much as I used to. In the "old days" I can remember of not having anyone with in yards of us. Any ways I injoyed your interveiw.
  15. Well, what an interesting read. I would not be a bit surprised if the real culprit in the disappearence of the native species of crawdaddies, and even the beloved smallie, would be the "invasive" otter. They maim and kill for the pure injoyment of killing. I can't think of any thing the MDC has done to really P*** me off other than the otter. (maybe a bear or two) Rant??? Why not?
  16. Dang!!!! Man you done good. Ok, so lets be serious. Congratulations, that is one big ol hawg. I even get a thrill from the picture.
  17. What laker is saying is true. We did see this on several occasions. In Oct several of us went on our annual white bassin trip on loz. We caught them by the dozen but kept only enough for that nights supper if that was what we were eating. We did give some away. Guess this is off the subject. Well, white bass are the only ones to reproduce. Hybreds and stripers are stocked several times a year. IMO it would take alot to over fish them. As long as EVERONE abides by the limits I think we should be in good shape on loz for a long time. As long as we keep having the shad hatch at millions per acre. Wrench this doesn't answer your original question other than my opinion.
  18. I was watching the same planes from over on Y-road, Linn Creek The sun shine was great!!!! If one were to just keep an eye out for such things, one would find beauty almost everywhere.
  19. I am happy for you Laker. Look forward to doing so my self, but, in my case afraid the word "retirement" is a polite way of saying "unemployed".
  20. Oh yeah, congrats on another fine showing.
  21. I thought you went crappie fishin!! Other than the wind it was a perfect day to be on the creek. So how do you cast that A-rig on a fly rod, any way??
  22. Some very interesting stuff. I haven't made up my mind on the thing yet, and it don't look like it matters much any way. It will get fished, a lot. So thank you to every one for your posts, for my self I appreciate all you have to say.
  23. I can't tell ya any thing bout the Whites on Pomme but my buddies and I caught tons of them on LOZ last week and week end.
  24. Why bother to even leave the house. Not much to waste your time in going fishing is there?? I can assure you if you are killing fish in catch and release you are doing something seriously wrong.
  25. I fished a bass tourney over the week end on Pomme. There were lots of small fish in the 13-15 inch range. I didn't see many nests so am to believe they have spawned out since the water temp is from 69-72 degree range. First place and big bass were on the same stringer, weighed in a little over 10 lb, so as I said lots of small fish. I might add there was NO pattern to the bite, one here one there. water is clear to off up the tribs. A very tough lake to fish!!! One musky was caught and released and our boat saw a huge one. Got to take a bunch home for a big fish fry. Dang they are quite tasty!!!! Nothing at all like chicken. lol
