Heard something a little interesting today. My buddy who owns Adventure Outdoors Canoe rental and campground told me that a Trout Organization (I assumed Trout Unlimited?) donate a good sum of money to the MDC to monitor trout movement on the upper Meramec. So the MDC has placed a antenna on the Aventure Outdoors Building. I guess they can track a big brown until it gets caught or gigged now?

One of the funniest things I’ve noticed about the Upper Mississippi above Minneapolis is that everyone you talk to thinks their section of the river is better than anyone else’s. That river is good for 100 miles. The bass look different from different sections of the river, the farther North you go, they look like an oversized blue gill, very tall from top to bottom. The farther Downstream, the fish look closer to a Missouri smallmouth. But guess what? You put them on the scale and they weigh the same. It all depends on what kind of water you like to fish.

I’ve only turned my sprinkler system on for about a week so far this year, it’s already turned back off. I probably could’ve gotten by with not turning it on at all. This is the first year that has happened that I can remember.

Unfortunately I can’t agree with this statement anymore. The “Masters of the Universe” have seen to that. Google algorithms...blocking Campus speakers, etc. so in other words someone else’s right to listen never comes into play. As they once said, the biggest news could be what you never hear. To take it a step further, looks like you can’t use specific gender pronouns in some Elementary schools now. They are only to be referred to as “students”.

Ok, I’m way over the top with this subject, I’ll admit. When I replace trebles I always replace split rings with either SPRO or the best which is Owner Hyper wire. Regarding the hooks, there are so many good ones now. I agree Aaron Martins Gamakatsu are one of the best, if not THE best. But Owner makes a dandy too...which is called Stinger. These are hard to beat.

Yep, the angle of most Shakey heads can make it more difficult to rig. I told a Shakey head expert to rig one in front of me. He made look exactly like picture 1. I also noticed that the hook point was still well inside the plastic. He said he has no issues hooking fish doing it this way. I’ve had different results

The lodge we used to fish at in Canada had a cabin that always seemed vacant. I enquired about the cabin and the lodge owner told me “That’s Doctor “Jones” cabin...he rents it all year and is flying in this week with his helicopter to fish” I got to meet the Dr. Jones one evening at the camp. He explained that he invented a portable drug testing kit for police officers to use for the guys they suspect of being under the influence. He said a Japanese firm offered to buy his company and he told them “You don’t have enough money!” And then he said “guess what? I was Wrong!”
