  1. I'm always mildly disgusted with my wife for always taking photos at every event, including going out to dinner. But in the end, the memory that's locked in my head won't be available to my ancestors when I'm worm food. So in the end she is right for doing it! awesome pics!!
  2. I've been in many boat factories in the last 20 years. Almost every one still builds boat the old fashioned way, which is basically hammer to fit. They have been notoriously reluctant to upgrade the manufacturing processes until recently. I think in 10 years the boats will be vastly superior than the boats produced today.
  3. Great report!
  4. Always enjoy reading this!
  5. Don't get dehydrated, drink plenty of fluids after the Pale Ales!
  6. Sunlight has a huge effect on nylon line. Line conditioner helps block the UV rays and helps the line last longer. Fluorocarbon is less affected by sunlight. If it were me I would change every 2 trips or so and use line conditioner. Keep in mind that can use cheaper line on the spool and use your favorite line for the last 50 yards.
  7. Back in the 70's a Delta pilot that was Chinese landed at the wrong airport. I kid you not, his name was Wong Wei. I used to fly 100,000 per year selling laser scanning and Metrology equipment. No problem with flying whatsoever. Then one flight changed all that. We were the last one they let out on the runway. We took off and it was so turbulent that several overhead bins flew open and the suitcases spilled out! Ruined me....I'm a white knuckle flyer now. Talked to a pilot that told me the minute you grab control of the airplane controls that I would loose my fear of flying.
  8. Nice! Glad it worked out!
  9. Seems to me that knowledge could never be a bad thing! Here's a thought...Have ten potential lakes in a lottery type drawing that is to be announced 2-4 days before the tournament.
  10. This is exactly what I was referring to on a thread a while back. Readily available information is everywhere... just like PED's in sports. Hate to be this way but maybe a polygraph test should be standard procedure. When money is involved people are nuts!
  11. Here's a question: Does the presence of a lamprey indicate you've located a wintering pool where the fish are stacked up?
  12. Yea, I'll mark up the maps, NO PROBLEM!
  13. Yeah, I'm beginning to go permanently to the Aluminum camp as well. Easy to weld on cool stuff, and lightweight means less horsepower required too!
  14. Watch out fer the pit bull tied up on that tree back yonder!
  15. 1000+ blanks, 20 pounds of grubs......Man, you are my hero!
  16. I caught a couple of pretty nice LMB (3 LBs) a few years ago but only fished it once
  17. Phil's diggin the new camera! more than one tripod mount I see! Those rainbows are all fatties, is this from the shad coming thru the dam?
  18. Haven't tried the G5, but the older one had production issues like the line tie coming off. I just didn't see the old ones having the same action as a wiggle wart, maybe the new G5 is different.
  19. Let's see the video!
  20. Great report, I always buy rib eyes at Costco.
  21. The stars were aligned!
  22. Here comes the big X
  23. I like the YUM scent or the Yamamoto Mega Strike Gel, although the YUM as trophy fisher pointed out seems to stain your baits red. But IMO , they will improve the number of bites you'll get in a day. Especially when fish are in a neutral or negative feeding mode. When they are aggressively feeding, almost anything works!
  24. I think some people are naturally givers and some are takers. You've seen it at any boarding gate at the airport. The fact that it is legal to take a fish home for the frying pan doesn't mean that you don't stop until you extract your full limit before you go home every time you go out. Catching and keeping is a huge problem. Most of the people on this forum are probably not meat hunters. A fish for the frying pan is ok, but the reality is no one can control the guys who specifically are meat hunters looking for dinner. That's precisely why you don't post a report on Missouriwhitetails.com about how smallmouth you're catching at specific locations. Those deer hunters could really give a crap about our smallmouth.
