  1. For what its worth some friends and I went pleasure boating for a day a few weeks back and went swimming in a cove between oakland and pontiac just south of the state line. I grabbed some goggles and went free diving to about 15 feet or so. EVERY ROCK I FLIPPED OVER IN THE AREA WE WERE IN HAD ZEBRA MUSSELS ATTACHED. You couldn't hardly see them from above, but as soon as you flipped them over you'd see them on the underside. We were right near what I think they call the saddle, that long submerged island/point near oakland. Glad to see this post. I feel like i devote almost 75% of my time on the lake graphing and fishing submerged brushpiles and have had very very limited success the last month fishing everything from jigs to worms to dropshots. I guess I'll keep grinding it out. I'm curious, did the brush happen to be on any certain type of bank or point? or was it pretty much, if you find the brush there were bass around? Thanks for the post!
  2. haha it looked like there were several times where "wiggle wart" almost slipped out of his mouth. You could tell he was working hard to explain it with out saying WW
  3. Got out for a few hours last night about 630 and fished til about 945. Ran way back into spring creek where the water had some pretty good stain to it. I would've stayed out longer but with no moon it was tough to see even the outline of the shore and admittedly I'm not much of a night fisherman. Only caught 4 but one was a solid 3 and change largemouth. One out of a brushpile in 15fow, the others came on a black and red buzzbait along the bluffs over 15 to 20 feet. Had several blowups I didn't hook up on as well. Overall a fun night, and an improvement over the last several trips I've had going out in the morning and struggling to catch much of anything consistently.
  4. Really enjoyed that. Thanks for posting!
  5. Great catch!
  6. http://youtu.be/hzoHxv8pwNs Saw this was just posted by Eric Prey on his youtube channel a couple of days ago. Right from a table rock guide. Think its just what your looking for.
  7. Its been tough going the last couple weeks! You aint alone!
  8. Wow yeah, that is awesome, kudos to the guys spending time to take those readings. I'd love to see these posted regularly as well!
  9. Oops should've been 6/13 - 6/14
  10. Figured I'd share a quick report since I was out there the last couple days trying to catch a few bass. Admittedly I'm still learning the lake as I've just started to have an opportunity to get on it frequently. I'm not a big fan of finnesse tactics so usually I am ok with catching less numbers in lieu of size. I fished from theodosia down just past the arkansas line. My results really echoed the previous reports from babler and others. The last time I was out (3 weeks ago) you could catch them in the bushes all day long. Not the case anymore. I could catch the occasional 10-12" spot up shallow but it seems the bigger fish for me all but left the bushes. Most of my better fish came off points in 18-25FOW with a jig. I actually seemed to get bit more using a full size 3/4 ounce football jigs over spider finnese jigs. My numbers were pretty sad, about 7 or 8 fish over the four to six hours I was out each day but usually 5 of them would be keeps. Mostly largemouth but did catch a nice smallie playing around with a 10xd. Thought I hooked an absolute giant, only to find I had hooked the fish in the top of the head. Might try to sneak out for few hours one night this week.
  11. We fished theodosia 4 times this last week. Threw the spy bait quite a bit. Just wasn't happening with that lure for us.
  12. I want to know what "unnamed" swimbait he was throwing... All you hear is MCSTICK MCSTICK MCSTICK
  13. 30+ bass a day is a good trip regardless of size. Thanks for the post!
  14. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Gambler_Ledge_Worm/descpage-GLDGW.html#multiview Great option for TR and BS when you want a big profile with finesse style action.
  15. Awesome post. Thanks!
  16. Paca chunk is my go to trailer on jigs of varying sizes. Only time I opt for something different is if its cold and I need a trailer with no action.
  17. Sounds somewhat similar to the Major League Fishing concept. I could see it working. Only difficulty. 1 it'd be a huge start up cost for a circuit looking to provide all the tech equipment needed. And from my experience workiing with the gopro the editing can take quite a while (hours). Longer than anyone waiting around in the weigh in would want. Plus what would happen if the camera malfunctioned sometime during the day? It's happened to me. Would it be the anglers fault?
  18. Hey all. Hopefully this hasn't been hashed alread, I did a search to no avail. I'm not looking for specific brand necessarily because everyone has their favorite rod company. But just curious if there is a certain length and action you prefer. Long rod, short rod, etc? They are a pretty light bait so does anyone use a longer rod 7'6"+ to get extra distance?
  19. Wish their discount worked on megabass
  20. Here is the trailer link. http://store.bassingbob.com/dvds/9-fall-bass-massacre-dvd.html I was surfing today and came accross this DVD for sale with Marcus Sykora Looks pretty interesting and I'd like to watch but don't know if its $20+ Shipping interesting. Anyone ever watched or seen it? Reviews?
  21. Enjoyed it, thanks for the post!
  22. I think this was from the 2012 tourney when Palinuik won. Just a preview but still a good watch in the middle of winter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIOQsLy2k3A
  23. Thats a very similar set up to what I use. Though I usually throw spro's but I would think they're similar. I go 50lbs braid. You may have to play with the reel settings a bit. I find I'm the most accurate with the frog leaving it a little loose and thumbing the reel.
  24. Thanks for the replies. I was thinking that it could just be do to the larger population of branson. I'm actually kind of glad to hear there are some guys that prefer Bull Shoals as I'm going to probably end up a little closer to it near the theodosia arm
