Some of the corn fields near my house here in Illinois are already turning brown. We havnt even hit our hot/dry months yet so you can bet the price of corn will go up if it stays like this. I guess the soy beans and horseradish crops wont be very good either.

I wonder if the Almanac was able to see the lack of normal rain for the year to date. Around here it will take a lot of rain to recoup from a long period of below average rainfall.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

They're saying there's a 1 degree difference between St. Louis today, and Phoenix, Arizona (they're at 109, we're at 108). I'd hate to think how bad it would feel with the humidity. Of course the dryness in the air, isn't helping the brushfire situations.

My phone app says it's 106 right now in south STL... Weird thing is it says it "feels like" its only 101 with a 20mph wind out of the west...Guess that means there's a wind chill?

It did say that if June rains did not come thru, that a dought would persist until late july August. Also it didnt have much call for rain in May and June looking back at it. BUT Good news is they have rain in August and lots of rain in september and october, with snow by halloween.

It was 112* according to my truck on the drive home from work today at 4pm.
