Wayne SW/MO Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Funny stat. This June has been cooler than the last 2 here. It was pointed out that the reason was we had a lot of normal or below temps up until this big heat wave hit. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
gramps50 Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 I don't want to hear any whining out of STL, you've had cooler temps and more rain then the southern section. Not much rain here either. The record is now 108 and it was set on June 28, 20112 the only thing that is saving us is that the humidity is 13% so the 108 felt like 104 Cools off at night, right now it's 81
moguy1973 Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Already 82 degrees at 6am...gonna be another scorcher... My car temp read 119 leaving work yesterday... -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Quillback Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 102 here in Bella Vista yesterday, ya'll should drive down here and enjoy the cooler weather Weatherman last night says we have set 4 daily records in a row for high temperature for the date.

Greasy B Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 My buddy's and I tried to play golf last night, the golf course was closed. Folks running the course had more sense than us. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974

Daryk Campbell Sr Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 As I was picking up the wife in Downtown St Louis yesterday, I had a temp of 118 in the car. I guess all of the buildings radiate the heat to raise it some. I am just thankfull that we are without all of the humidity. I also observed something I would call odd. Usually when the heat gets to the high 90s, there are many cars on the side of the road with either blow outs or steaming radiators/hoses. Yesterday I did not seem to see but a couple flats, and there was no one in them. Not as many buckles of the roads, (didn't hear of any). I wonder if the humidity contributes in any way to these happenings? Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction.
