Good lord, don't you guys on that side of the state have plumbing? E coli levels are almost what they are on the LOZ. But that is a lake and we are talking about a river.

How does that happen on a river?

Cows, pigs, horses and other livestock all wading and pooping in the river...

Geese are infamous poopers and spreaders of E coli.

Probably about #18-19 down on the list of problematic poop contributors I'd guess.

Convenient scapegoats near waterways though for sure.

Not in the smaller lakes in NW AR, geese are at the top of the list.

Perhaps in the LS basin, but the poorly planned septic systems in ground that was perc tested by an employee of the developer in the cab of his pickup with only a pencil and a pad of test forms are the big problem on the main lakes, where E Coli counts are directly proportional to the lakeside home count. At least most of the original steel tanks have been replaced now, it used to be much worse.

I can't dance like I used to.

We've also had a lot of rain after a long dry spell and I'm sure there was a build up of matter. Then there's the old leaky tanks that bfishin mentioned to add to it.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
