Mitch f Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Even though I love rivers, I can't see myself living on a river due to the risk of flooding. Now I could live fairly close to a river for sure, but I want to be right on the water so I'm trying to figure out which Ozark area lake would be the best to build. So far I'm leaning towards Bull Shoals....What would be your favorite lake and why? ps. it's all just pie in the sky anyway cuz I doubt I could ever get my wife to move to a rural location! Guest Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Can she handle Branson? It would be close enough to bull
ColdWaterFshr Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Bull Shoals, Stockton, or Pomme, but probably Bull.
MOPanfisher Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Do you want to be right on the lake front with a dock etc. or just close enough that a short drive will have your boat in the water? Bull shoals and Stockton are beautiful lakes, but not likely to provide a place right on the lake. Springfield is within an hour or so or stockton, pomme, table rock, bull shoals (upper end) and lots of good fishing rivers and creeks close enough for a day trip without problem. Truman a little further and also Cesspool of the ozarks. Branson is another option. Personally I would rather live a little further from the lakefront in a house with enough property I could take a leak off of my porch without getting the police called on me, and a short drive to a launch ramp would put me on the lake.
rainbow Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 If you try to build on a corp lake you need to understand the private dock requirements. Hard to get one on some of the lakes as is lakefront property. for my money I would build one with a view of Truman and near one of the marinas. Truman is a fishing lake and not full of crazy boaters and jet ski's. Very quiet area and property is reasonable. I have looked at several places there and still some good deals to be had. Headed there for some fishing soon.
