fishinwrench Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 I did it for a long time but I don't anymore, not when I'm out fishing anyway. I just figure that I've done more than my share over the years and I'm not as energetic as I used to be.....so it's all up to you young studs now I have to give credit either to the general public in my area, the floods, or the ones still diligently doing the picking up....but I don't see near the amount of trash on the rivers that I frequent than I used to. Even on our local Stream Team stretch it was hard to fill a single bag recently. Bravo!
Gavin Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Its hard to fill a bag on most of the popular stretches...off the beaten track...you will find plenty....I don't grab it unless its handy...or my purpose for the day. Some of those old vehicles, tractor tires, and dumpsters..hold good fish.
Old plug Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 One thing John. From your post it sounds like you just walked up and started shouting at that man. Sound like you got something against old people as well. I do not know why he felt that way and it is clear you never had enough common sense to approach it in a civil manner. You had no idea why he felt that way.
Terrierman Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 I clean up other people's messes for a living. I also pick up trash when I'm out on the river. One of the things that always goes in the boat with me is one of those cheapie wal-mart laundry bags. It'll hold a lot of beer cans and rinses out in nothing flat. To everyone else who has or does help keep this planet a decent place to enjoy life: Thank you.
ollie Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 As a Stream Team volunteer I salute you! "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
John Andrews Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 Well Old Plug as a rule I dont just fly off the handle. Givin the fact that that day started like crap and got worse all day long, it just happened to set me off. You feel the need to be judgemental thats fine. I dont "have something against old people" Hell I am old people compared to some. I do however have something against being accused of something I didnt do. As far as common sense, I have plenty, more so than most people I encounter. But like everyone else ( who is truthful with themselves ) there are times temper can overcome " common sense " As far as "why he felt that way" I didnt care then, To be truthful, I dont care now either. The OLD man down the street from me, thats on a fixed income might feel different, I repair his mower and his car and not charge him a dime for the effort. The elderly woman, who I spent almost to days cleaning up after the ice storm at no charge, might not agree with you either. This list goes on but I feel I made my point. I infact respect everyone that I feel is worth respecting. Young or old.
405z06 Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 You two can fish my creek anytime you want Its not "your" creek, bro
Hog Wally Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 Your right. I sold it. Im moving to (my) river property
