Hopefully it's a brutal winter and we get dumped on. The water table is starting to need it in places again.

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson

Just hope it gets really cold for a couple weeks this winter...Want to experience at least one good ice show float in the coming season.

I think it is going to be up and down very inconsistent . I would be happy to see along period of deep stuff but do not think we will. Besides fishing i do a lot if ornament gardening. Late winter beginning in mid february has kept me busy these past few years. almost every year we have been seeing a warm streak in late winter. It causes a loss of the ground water. I have been known to water as early as February. It also causes plant to emerge before they should. God only know how many times I have drug stacks of foam plant covers out of the shed to cover as many as 100 hosta plants. Whatever it is I just want it to be consistent..

I cant stand the heat so i look forward to winter.I hope we have a good hard freeze that lasts a week or two to kill off all the bugs, and one huge snow with alot of rain afterwards to melt all the snow real quick and flood all the creeks to wash all the leaves out.I look for arrowheads in the winter so i do alot of walking in the creeks.I can get warm in the winter but its hard for me to get cooled off in the summer.Im not gonna have a heatstroke in the winter and i sure aint gonna freeze to death around here.I found one of those little square gas bathroom heaters thats converted to propane and its gonna get mounted on the pontoon for winter fishin. Its funny,we just had snow 120 days ago and were already talkin about winter. My guess is--alot of rain,2 big snows,January will be bitter cold and we all have lost our summer tans and there will be alot of chatter on the fishing forums cause its to cold to fish. But one thing is for sure-we wont get ran over by jetskis or tubers.

Every Winter is brutal IMO. Some are less so than others but they all suck. I wish I could fly South and avoid cold weather entirely.

Moved from St Louis to central Arkansas May 1999 didn't winterize my boat again till I moved here to Republic Dec 2007 I don't think we ever saw ice on Ouchita, Hamilton or Katherine. A brutal winter day was low in 20s 3 inches of snow overnight and the ramps dry at noon
