joeD Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 What is it about trout that sends us over the moon? Why is so much energy and photography and writing expended chronicling the catching of a 6 inch colorful minnow (in a net, no less!).
Quillback Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 I like the pictures of the little fellers (if done right). Often more picturesque than the big ones. It's a fishing forum - stories and pics are expected. Otherwise we wouldn't have much going on here.
Feathers and Fins Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 JoeD, one word explains it all <Passion> https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
ness Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 It's in our genes, Joe. It can't be explained, much less taught. Stick to noodling for catfish. John
laker67 Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 caught my first 6 inch trout a few months back. It was at bssp.
jdmidwest Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 It is the aggravation of fishing a perfectly matching hatch imitation during a good feeding frenzy and watching them run up then snub it. Moments later, they take a cigarette butt floating down. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
Jerry Rapp Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 It is the aggravation of fishing a perfectly matching hatch imitation during a good feeding frenzy and watching them run up then snub it. Moments later, they take a cigarette butt floating down. but the question is JD, if you put a cig butt on a #12 hook, would it matter what brand the butt was? I mean would a Marlboro butt be better than a Salem butt? I would guess you would have to match the BUTT of the day?
bfishn Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 I've got a mouse that will do that. :-) I can't dance like I used to.
bfishn Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 ...I would guess you would have to match the BUTT of the day? Now that there's funny! I can't dance like I used to.
