What is it about trout that sends us over the moon?

Why is so much energy and photography and writing expended chronicling the catching of a 6 inch colorful minnow (in a net, no less!).

I like the pictures of the little fellers (if done right). Often more picturesque than the big ones. It's a fishing forum - stories and pics are expected. Otherwise we wouldn't have much going on here.

It's in our genes, Joe. It can't be explained, much less taught. Stick to noodling for catfish. :D

It is the aggravation of fishing a perfectly matching hatch imitation during a good feeding frenzy and watching them run up then snub it. Moments later, they take a cigarette butt floating down.

but the question is JD, if you put a cig butt on a #12 hook, would it matter what brand the butt was? I mean would a Marlboro butt be better than a Salem butt? I would guess you would have to match the BUTT of the day?

I've got a mouse that will do that. :-)

I can't dance like I used to.
