Flysmallie Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Flysmallie,as I posted the man I Little Rock said they are closing it, don't know how much clearer that can be.Duck Oh I know what you said and what he said but the article says something different. That's why I mentioned it.
Old plug Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I know the .corp id hurting for money . after all they are the military that some in congress have been pushing against. the big bite has come from discretionary spending. although I do not approve of the spending cuts I know first hand how they blow discretionary spending. ike wrench said all they have to due is raise the rates a bit. But that would not be politically popular.
Jerry Rapp Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 raise fees a bit? Hell, our taxpayer dollar's built the ramps and campgrounds in the first place. Now we have to pay for what we paid for. I worked for the Corps, almost 33 years worth, and every lake manager I knew privately said the admin cost of collecting the fees, processing them, and issuing citations never covered their costs to enforce them. Thanks Monica Lewinsky's boyfriend. This is just a simple case of doubling up on taxes, as if we don't pay enough already.
Quillback Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 What enforcement? Only time I've seen a COE LEO was last year when one of them was putting up a barricade during the shutdown. Are they laying off any personnel, or just closing a park? I think I know the answer to that.
Jerry Rapp Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I have gotten warnings several times at both Clearwater and Wappapello when I forget to put the yearly sticker on my mirror.
fishinwrench Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I'm still curious what is making them choose that particular area. There's plenty others that I'm sure aren't showing a profit.
merc1997 Bo Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 the best thing to do is to just keep using the ramps. if they lock gates, i am sure they will get tired of replacing rocks. they tried to block off the H highway ramp, but we just hooked onto their rocks a few times with 4 wheel drives and drug them off. they finally quit trying. bo
fishinwrench Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Hell yes! Non-compliance! Revolution! Anarchy! Gonna be a banner year on YouTube. I'd better up my data package.
