hahahaha.....highly doubt I have ever been on the Bourb???? wtf!!!! I had two jet boats in the past and plan to get another here.....I have fished the entire length of the Bourbeuse and fish the upper end quite a bit. When you talk about people killing anything that swims on a river I frequent well I get pissed.....very pissed......don't worry Seth the people you talk of will have people looking for them. My in laws farm will be getting patrolled very hard now and you can bet your butt that the County authorities that are in my family will be on the upper Bourb. When you made your statement it all started to add up so thanks buddy......Tell your friends if they do this dung from Japan Missouri up to Redbird on the Bourb they will getting shitload of heat coming down on there asses....bet on it.

Don't worry I didn't I didn't jam my wrist but, I feel better after 2 hours of sweating profusely

I wish your buddies luck at busting every poaching pos down there. It would bring joy and laughter to my heart if I find out they got busted lol. If I had to guess, they would be somewhere outside of Gerald around Melody Lake. I've heard that mentioned in their discussions in the past.

I understand why you got pissed, just don't throw me under the bus like it's my fault though. That kind of stuff pisses me off because I definitely abide by the game laws and do my part to try and make the future better for our fisheries. The jack legs doing illegal stuff and jacking things up are just as much my enemy as they are yours. Now go catch some fish and get off my butt. :)

It's pretty hard to bust giggers with illegal fish. The very nature of the sport combined with cell phones makes it all but impossible.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

I guarantee you if I was of a mind to I could of selectively killed any fish on the river this winter.

I didn't realized you could chase down selectively pursue and kill individual fish like that......scary stuff! I'm glad you're one of us!

Just saw the "Lego Movie." Excellent! I highly recommend it. Smart. Clever. Modern (all things that I am not). No poaching or gigging in that movie by the way.

So, getting back to me....

While there are a limited number of giggers who will stick anything, there are also apparently a few who will arrow anything. This could also have been an arrow sliding own the side of the fish.

I dunno if I should open this can of worms or not but I recently learned something about the bowfishing crowd that I'm not too wild about. I just assumed that most of the guys that are heavy into it had a use for the rough fish, either giving them to someone for hog food or for fertilizing gardens, or something at least moderately useful. But I'm learning (by merely listening) that that isn't the case at all. It sounds to me like most bowfishermen just chuck them up on the bank or throw them right back into the lake.

Not a really huge concern to me personally since buffalo, carp and gar are thicker than they need to be in most waters...but bowfishing is a fast growing sport and I see a future problem in the works here.

I know all the bowfishers in my little corner of the pond because I work on all of their boats, and if I start finding dead bass around here with pierced bodies then I'm gonna be in a difficult situation to say the least.

I noticed a couple of turtles last Fall that had been stuck so I know at least one group isn't above sticking "whatever swims".

Fried gar chunks and buffalo ribs are yummy. I don't mess with common carp though.

It's about like pulling a backstrap out of a deer. Just make sure you eat it fresh out of the grease while it's piping hot. It get's rubbery once it cools off.
