Some people are reluctant to post in general, no matter what the topic. At some point, some one needs to post something or it would be a pretty boring forum. But when you post something you're exposing yourself to everyone's opinion and/or crappy attitudes and comments. The difference is I really don't get upset by anyone's comments too much. Everyone on this forum knows who the dorks are.

Well I fished yesterday but did not even get a bite. Watched a lot of dead shad float by. Since I did not catch I did not report. I suppose people want to see the no shows along with the great catches. Fished the 5 mm of the big N. Had 2 buddies fish up the glaize yesterday with no bites. Warmest water temp they found was 41 at pb one.

Fishing is fun. Smallmouth fisherman are definitely a different breed. I respect them for trying to protect their beloved fish. I hope I haven't been grouchy. I certainly don't consider myself old :)

All I'm sayin' is there should be more "general" fishing reports with all the people who frequent the site.

I appreciate those who do post - very much. Thanks.

I don't post regular trip reports here but I'm usually around daily to answer direct questions that I "think " I know the answer to.

I don't think a sincere question has ever gone unanswered on this forum, ever. And if it's a controversial question you're sure to hear all the various angles, then decide for yourself.

So.....what more could you ask for?

If you get all butthurt about getting lambasted for something, just stick around and ride it out....someone will chime in to defend you shortly.

I aint been out since the topwater bite died off. Topwater fishing is what I enjoy. The other methods I just dont seem to enjoy as much. I like to think I am getting pretty darn good at the topwater game. So until my "season" takes off I ride the scooter and play bass guitar. If i remember right, last April I was doing pretty good. Once the water temps got into the mid 50's I hope everyone here ( even the grumpy post bashers ) have a outstanding 2014

John, Nothing wrong with specializing. I know a few other strictly topwater fishermen and they have a bit of a cult following around here. I've been trying to convert a pair of them into flyfishermen but I'm not having much luck :)

In the beginning I was blown away by their choice of "topwater" baits, but they stick with it and are amazingly consistent throughout most of the year.

I dabble in the fly fishing game. I did really well at Creighton. I made a popper fly the the bass really took to. Very small bass but a blast to catch on a fly rig
