Bill Babler Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 I think the bait has been around under a several different names for quite sometime. Ralph Lambert out of Shell Knob used to fish it almost exclusively except for a spook in the mornings. Where it has been changed somewhat is in the presentation, now as I believe Dave has redefinded it into a very slow through presentation that completely covers an area that he knows is holding fish. Regardless of how or what it is, the proof is in the pudding, and the results are here for everyone to see. I really appreciate the info on it and it tickles me pink that it is doing so well. Continue to bring us these great results, Its amazing. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
dtrs5kprs Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 And it fishes other ways. This week it was a lot like the west coast dart head doodling. Other times it is more shakey head like. Still others more like a grub. Darn thing works. Dark has settled in here at 13. Really good time to be on a trailer.
dtrs5kprs Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Should note, I slowed it down more this year. There are a dozen or places I like to fish, before exploring, but only fished maybe half of them. If you've not read it, the late Bill Murphy's book, while not entirely compatible, is beneficial to users of the little rig. Especially his structural concepts, and ideas on speed. I'm convinced it helped my boat catch more fish this spring. That book is dear to the big swimbait guys. Our very own Bill knows Ned, and think he would share my belief that Ned has not in any way named it for himself. He's just not that way. Now the question is, did Bill throw it yet this spring?
Ham Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 I can see where it would fish a lot like the Slider techniques detailed out in Charlie Brewer's book. Either scrubbing the rocks or a slow steady no frills retrieve back to the boat. I can see it as a micro Shakey Head. I can see it as a drop shotesque presentation. It ought to work thrown on or near bedding fish. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

abkeenan Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 A lot of folks do call it the turd worm, but that is also used down here to mean fish docs, dead ringers, etc. Turd worm in my book has always been the fish doc, centipede, etc either split shotted or on a c-rig. If anyone is wondering I invented the Ned Rig back in 1981. NED = Nuttin' Eats Dat (rig).......it was my secret weapon til Dave spilled the beans on me and my rig and now everyone and their brother is throwing it or running my namesake rig through the slander mud on fishing forums.
*T* Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 French fry on mojo is in my top 3 right now. If anyone is wondering I invented the Ned Rig back in 1980. NED = Now Eat Dis (rig).......it was my secret weapon til abkeenan spilled the beans on me and my rig and now everyone and their sister is throwing it or running my namesake rig through the slander slime on fishing forums (now even carp forums).
