Quillback Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 One of the good guys, let's hope that he beats this. Veteran pro Stacey King of Missouri posted the following to his Facebook page on Tuesday: "I've been blindsided by a health issue and going through a bunch of tests the last couple of weeks. I have squamous cell carcinoma in a lymph node on the side of my neck, but it's coming from another source which they haven't been able to determine. I go in Thursday for surgery on my throat to remove my tonsils and do three more biopsies. The next week is not going to be any fun at all. Then I may be faced with more treatments. I appreciate all the support from all my friends and fans. Peggy will keep the Facebook page updated as to my progress. Prayers will be appreciated!" The 65-year-old King was in the midst of another solid season on the FLW Tour, ranking 26th in the Angler of the Year race through four events. He logged finishes of 30th or better in three of those. He sat out most of the 2007 season after undergoing open-heart surgery.
dtrs5kprs Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 You can bet Ned Rig Nation will be praying for Stacey and his family as they go through this.
5bites Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Heard about this on facebook. Also praying. I met him once while tackle shopping with my boys in kc on vacation. This was right after his PAA win. Very very nice guy. My boys were pumped. I'd like to meet him again.
Champ188 Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Let's pray him thru this, guys. Donna and I are living proof (literally) that it works. You guys helped pray both of us thru kidney cancer.
5bites Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Not to veer off target here much but Champ you and your wife both had kidney cancer? Sorry if that's a stupid question.
Mitch f Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Yes, he's one of the good guys! Sorry to hear that "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
