fishinwrench Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 A type III with 3 buckles in front is what's being reported, but that just doesn't make sense. I would have expected the old orange thing which COULD be attached properly while handcuffed. Take a second and think about what it would feel like to be handcuffed over the water. Even a slight loss of balance would cause you to panic.
Flysmallie Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Was he told to stay seated until instructed to stand? After all, the driver is STANDING! Whatever? You are always going to take the side of those breaking the law. It's like a broken record. Hope one of these drunks doesn't kill one of your kids.
Justin Spencer Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I'm sure we will see a change in protocol now as to how offenders are placed in life jackets. It is a shame it took an accident like this had to happen, but hopefully it won't happen again. Everything I have read from this story shows clearly the Water Patrol was liable to a certain degree, everything that has been alleged of this victim is just that allegations. Transporting alleged drunks, handcuffed in the back of a Donzi on LOZ is a dicey situation at best.....good luck to Water Patrol. Not one company I represent wants anything to with water liability at all and I don't blame them.
Old plug Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 your wrong Wrench its 150 % There are good people and there are bad things that happen. But many of those coming down here only want to party get drunk and act like asses. They sort of look down on us who live here are something like were less than them because They damage my property with no option my part to be able to hold them accountable for it. They hot rod the roads I have been cut off to the point of having to run off the road, ore than one time. Just late last Sunday I was on my way home. I encountered an large cruiser wake. I cut my throttle back so that I would not go through it hard. About that time here comes a wave runner jumping a wake not 15 ft to my side. He then made a fast turn across my bow about 20 ft in front of me. He was not young and he had what looked like a early teen girl on the back. All i could think of was were going to have another serious accident. But he just took off on this merry way. Its why do not trust or think summer people are anything but trouble especially if they are young and yuppie like.
Old plug Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I have not mentioned this but there is some possibility that jacket failed from impact with the water. I still cannot understand what possed him to get up in that boat. on Sunday afternoon at that hour that spot he went down in never stops rolling.

The laws being broken that I'd like to see some attention/action given to are always ignored because it's inconvenient and requires EFFORT. It's frustrating.

But one of the ones I want to see get some attention is drunk boaters. But the problem is that the laws that you really want to have attention doesn't pay the bills like the lakes do.
fishinwrench Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Here's one where nobody was buzzed, and somebody still goes to jail. The dude that was riding on the gunnel was saved, so I'm scratching my head on THOSE charges. Funny how in THAT case it wasn't a question whether he "fell or jumped", isn't it? If I make a trolling motor adjustment and your clumsy azz falls (or jumps) out, will you please bring me cigs while I'm doing time in prison for attempted manslaughter? I'd appreciate it.
