Hmmm, Bureau of Labor Statistics says "The number of Americans not in the labor force has climbed by 11,480,000 since Obama took office, rising from 80,529,000 in January 2009 to 92,009,000 in May 2014."

That's not good.

Good fishing!!

Sorry for the loss. Lets keep the political stuff off. We all know how bad it is. There are some folks that only look for any type of a political post to further their agenda on here. so for those of you that are regular TR posters Lets talk fishing and let those folk only looking on our forum to comment on some type of non-fishing topic stay off the TR forum.

I believe now both Minkota and Motor guide have quick releases on their TM brackets. I know you can take my new MG off in about 30 seconds. That my friends for leaving equipment unattended in dock on any lake is bad news.

All they did was cut the transducer wire and take the motor. They didn't take the bracket or damage the boat, thank God. They just pried open the one rod box, which just bent the plastic latch. They never broke open the other rod box or any other compartments. Maybe someone came around and scared them off. The biggest problem is that they got my favorite spinning rod, custom made G Loomis GLX with Spoony written down near the handle. I've never made any claim with any Insurance company, so it will be interesting to see how they handle everything. I have Progressive insurance and so far they have been great. They had someone out in two days to take pictures and get information. I know they have pretty good rod locker bars on the market, has anyone ever had someone break in to one of them. I may have to padlock the trolling motor to the boat, in hopes of slowing them down. I also installed a security camera, maybe next time I will get a picture of the scumbags. I just hate to have to lug everything up and down the hill.

I blame most of the low level low life criminal activity on meth. That crap and the people who make, sell and use it has changed the world. The way it is largely ignored by Law Enforcement really gives me heartburn.

Sorry to hear about your loss - Good idea to let us know about the GLX, no doubt the thieves will try and sell this stuff somewhere, always a chance one of us will run across it.

I was fishing near a small resort dock the other day early in the morning, I could see a couple of rods sitting out in the open in a boat that was docked there overnight.

Please keep us informed regarding your experience with Progressive's Claims service. I have them too and would be very interested.

Sorry you have to deal with this. A friend who recently lost his GF to Cancer recently had the same item swiped.

Don't trolling motors come with serial numbers inscribed on them ? The thieves are going to have to acquire the correct mounting bracket to mount or re-sell the motor. Maybe the word could be spread thru Water Patrol to trolling motor dealers/re-sellers to get that motor's serial number before selling bare mounting brackets and compare buyer's I.D. to the manufacturer's warranty registration records ? Just a thought.....

Keep an eye on craigslist. If the thieves live 100-200 miles away they might think it is safe to sell on craigslist....A member here once posted this link. lets you search craigslist and ebay at the same time..

Maybe the lock bars deter the attempt, but I have always figured they would just tear the boat up more if they really wanted in.

As a MO licensed pharmacist, I can tell you this sort of crime, along with copper wire theft etc., seems to have increased since they made it harder to get meth precursors. Don't believe the change had the intended effect on crime.

They should have the opportunity to get a job to earn honest money. 32% real unemployment.

Really? The people doing this stuff are not looking for a job or even take one if you offered it to them.....and I think you know that.
