Really? The people doing this stuff are not looking for a job or even take one if you offered it to them.....and I think you know that.

Talk about hitting the nail on the head..... :secret-laugh:

That sucks magicworm. Sorry for your lost gear. We have a private 2 slip dock in Beardsley Branch and I carry ALL of my gear up every single trip in and out including taking the electronic units off as well. I leave nothing for these jerks to think about taking. It's a pain to drag all the gear up and down from the house (and I have A LOT OF GEAR) but it's worth the trouble not to have something like this happen to me. Nothing you can do about the stolen troller. That is just absurd that someone would have to take that on and off to keep thieves from stealing them. Anything that isn't nailed down they will take.....and apparently even stuff that is nailed/bolted down they will still take it. Unreal. Sorry again and hopefully your stuff makes it way back to you or these lowlife scum of the Earth get "repaid" for their morally corrupt way of life.

And x 2 on the post about keep an eye on Craigslist for your stuff. Might also try contacting the local pawn shops and let them know to maybe keep an eye out in case these creeps try to turn it in for quick cash.

I agree its a pain to pack gear out every day, but when we come down to the lake for our week, I always pull the electronics off my boat. We may be guilty of leaving some rods and tackle boxes laying around, but we may have to rethink that now. And i never did think about trolling motor, but mine does not have the quick release.

Hope you can get these low lifes.

I believe I am going to etch some big numbers on my trolling motor shaft. I figure that something that makes it apparent the motor is easy to identify will give the tweakers pause. I may tinker with swapping out the t knob on the trolling motor bracket to something that requires a tool to get the motor off the bracket.

I don't leave anything on my boat when it is in a slip. Truman, Taney or any other lake is not safe over night. I pull my electronics every night and take all the tackle and leave the lockers unlocked. We pulled into Fall Creek dock one day a few years ago and a sheriff deputy was taking a report from the guys in two boats. Thieves had taken all their gear and come in by water. They were having lunch in the condos right above the dock. they were all LEO's themselves and lost everything.

I think they have jobs this is just a part time thing. Its what they do for recreation.

I highly doubt it. Low lifes like this more than likely have no job.

We have taken lots of steps after we have had one high end bass boat and two PWC stolen (they were recovered on the water the next day, stripped) including an alarm system that I designed/built, all gas caps locked, recording cameras, lots of lighting, and a locked gate on our commumity dock. We have had a couple of attempts since but the alarm system scared them away before the cops could arrive. I will say that the response time from the Stone Co, sheriff is excellent where I am.

Regarding the employment rate, there is less than 60% of able bodied males working today in this country. The number was much lower in 2010. A household of 4 can receive $45,000 from various government programs without eitiher one of the two adults (I use the term adult loosely) working. This is probably a pretty good income in Stone Co.

They hit the docks by point 5 and they got fishing rods and life jackets. I will keep my boat in my garage!!!!!
