Who cares what it's called and who cares when it started. It OBVIOUSLY catches fish. That's the only thing that matters. Right? I remember reading several articles that have stated Ned hates it being called the Ned Rig. I also don't believe he claims himself as the creator. It's just a technique that he used, tweaked, perfected, and started sharing with others who enjoy reading and learning about fishing. I believe his followers dubbed it the"Ned Rig". He doesn't make any money off this. ZMan, Strike King, Gopher, and other tackle companies are the ones making money. Why aren't people mad at these companies??? If you were using this back before Ned and you're ticked for his name being associated with it, then shame on you for not marketing it, writing about it, and having followers that wanted to name the technique after you.

This Ned Thread Is Dead and should be put to BED. Anyone with a GED or some brains in their HEAD and a hook with some brown or Red Lead could've invented the Ned, after-all, a bass isn't too picky about how it is FED, at least thats what Fred Said, or maybe that was Ted.

Can't argue with THAT! Point well made and taken.

Look,

Ned didn't name it after himself, it was dubbed the ned rig by his readers.

He's a writer for the in-fisherman & as far as I know, he's not making money from Zman or Gopher or any other tackle company.

Its all about frugality.

He found that elaztech could be cut in half to double the number of baits in the bag to reduce cost.

Each 1/2 zinker can catch 30+ bass.

The concept is old school but the plastic is a relatively "new" technology.

This technique is widely over looked by the tournament bass fishing crowd, they scoff at tiny baits & small hooks.

It flies in the face of what most bass fisherman will use.

Lets just enjoy a bait/technique that adds scores of extra bass to your fishing trips.

Well I'll be darn. I'm buying the Strike King Zero's next time...they are about a buck cheaper a pack than the Zinkerz

Im pretty sure the Strike King Zero's are made by elaztech, its eactly the same plastic that Zman uses, bc they produce them for Strike King.

If you can get them cheaper, by all means do it.

Forgive me for this dumb example, but:

The Russian guy who invented stealth surfaces that evaded radar wrote a book about it pre-World War II. Nothing was done with that book, until an engineer from Lockheed skunkworks read the book and adapted the formulas to create the first stealth aircraft. So, who was smarter the one who invented it, or the one that perfected it? I guess the best answer is that practically, the one who perfected it was the most important

Lets all hate on cell phones because it killed the land line phone.

Or we could hate smart phones because they killled the flip phone.

Its called progress & inovation. Use it to your advantage.

I just dont understand all the hate, but haters are going to hate. Its what they do.

Most people hate something due to fear or ignorance.

not this tournament fisherman. I'm all for small lures and light line, and I like to hear the drag sing alittle when you got something good.

Ned wrote the article about the little varmint.

He would"ve titled it the Ned Rig, if he was trying to glorify himself.

Give him a call, Ned is one of the nicest people you will find anywhere.

He's just trying to help us catch more fish.
