Bill I actually fish the Duo this spring on Pomme right after the spawn when the fish were starting to move deeper to summer haunts. The hook up ratio stunk several times I had 5 or 6 fish chasing it when it would start coming up toward the boat. You could feel them hitting at it but one out of every 10 cast I would catch one. So just like on about every hard bait I use I changed hooks to the same size Ewg mustad. The hooks are a little bit heavier but the hook up was much better. The bait would fall just a bit faster and help to keep it down. You might try this. I did not experiment with different size but you might try. As long as it doesn't effect the wobbling action on the fall and it gets down faster I don't see what it would hurt. If the hooks start hooking the body I would just go to a short shank or extra short. Just my thoughts.

I would think a faster fall would be good this time of year. Maybe the rate of a jigging spoon.

I want it to get deep & stay deep, especially in the wind. I like the spy baiting concept, but the baits & technique needs to be improved. That's good for the tinkerers like myself.

The hookup ratio needs to improve, that's where I would start tweeking it.

Y'all have a good start on this project. I'm sure this thread will get much longer as more people fish & adjust the bait.

Always the optimist as usual. Must be really fun stuck in your ways without ever trying something new.

I've also used the Jack All Prop. It sinks much slower. I would think it is a better 0-10 option. I like the Duo better, but I've caught more bass on the Jackall

I just ordered several colors of both Duo Realis models. I hope they work.....sounds like a fun way to fish....I plan to throw them on a ML spin rig with 6 lb Invisix

Nor would most of us bass guys pay a dime for a Woolly Bugger. To each his own.

believe me, I have tried so many gadgets over the years that I finally said enough is enough. I realized if someone "showed" me a better technique/lure, etc, then I would try it.

You mean like the Ned rig for example. A low cast easy way to absolutely knock the fish for a loop when they are < 20 foot deep.
