Anyone Fishing

Recommended Posts

I found pleasure and solitude in the "unimproved" wilderness of Zone 4 over the weekend. I much prefer the scenery down there. Where stick-fire shore lunches, unleashed fishing hounds, and other things related to a "normal" day astream are allowed. No hatchery exhaust pipes, and certainly no concrete...

And the fish are a tad prettier.

Halfway into a good drift, as the sun creeped low into the trees I heard the faint cry of a siren in the distance, and listened as it echoed softly down the valley. As I gently shook the barb free of another sporty fish and watched it disappear back into the broken water of the riffle I suffered a short moment of sadness for the poor confined souls much further upstream.

Such a rude method of forcing a fishermans last cast I can not tolerate.

That's the way I like it. If there were another two foot of water and six inches of visibility, all the better.

Actually I'm from Springfield and also a professional angler, it's really sad all this crap talk, I have a master's degree and my grammar is just fine. Also I was in the marine Corp.

Try not to take offense to anything said on this forum as it was more than likely thrown at you by some of the biggest wannabe fisherman trolls you will ever want to meet. This forum is packed full of them.

Remember you said that!

The stringers full of Meramec Smallies might be next, so you'd best sit on your hands.

Had a good time at bssp today. Caught a mixed bag of fish for sure. I caught trout, a first ever redhorse on artificial, google eye or is that goggle eye, one really nice one too, lunker size, several smallmouth, with one topping in around 2 lbs, and more trout. Crowd was light and fish were in abundance.

Thanks for the report Rick,I caught a mixed bag last Friday at Maramec. You had a better size in your fish as I had a 12" smallmouth,25-30 average size trout and a couple of small minnows. The ones that makes it appear you are fishing with minnows for bigger fish instead of just catching them.

I had a couple of those minners as well, one was accidently launched over my shoulder. All of the rough fish were caught on 16 grey scud. The smallmouth, goggle eyes, and red horse, on maribo jigs in zone three. We need to meet up for a trip to montauk or some wheres about.
