yes i think the high school teams are the way to go. Scott I will call Randy tomorrow. thnx for the help everyone. i bought the lews laser micro guide rods early last spring but ive upgraded to mostly all team lews rods. Ive always had a bad habit of carrying way too much tackle in the boat and ive decided the only way to break the bad habit is to down size, Ask Phil hes seen it first hand i went down to his place last feb for a couple days trout fishing

and drug all my bass gear with me hahahaha!!!!!

Always great to see stuff like this. We all have tons of gear laying around that never gets used but we hold onto, just in case. I'm guilty of this as much as anyone so last year I gave away 40 some bags of plastics to a high school fishing team. This year I didn't have as much to give but still sending a young angler with no extra income a bunch of jigs, some spinnerbaits, and a few odds and ends items that he was in need of. I cleaned out some stuff that I can surely live without and he should be set on some stuff that he was in need of for the upcoming season, everyone's happy :have-a-nice-day: I just asked that he remember the time someone helped him out so when he's in position to do so, he can help someone out.

You might also consider the MDC. They offer free kids fishing and can always use contributions towards that effort.

fisherman im in mt.vernon i'll pm you my phone number. ive got close to a 100lbs of good plastics and probly close to 50ea cranks and spinner baits. ive got enough to donate to a couple programs but i really want the rods to go to a kid that couldn't participate otherwise. if there's someone down there fits my criteria that would be great. :)

Great idea Jim and very timely for this time of year. This is just a good reminder for all of us to know there are kids who would love to get outdoors and fish, but just don't have the support nor the means at home. Hope you find the right person or high school bass team for your wonderful gift.

I like Fishrman's suggestion. My son in law coaches football and baseball at Cassville, so he sees many young men who don't have the family support or financial means to do much of anything other than going to school and playing sports. If I can help find the right person or group in Cassville just let me know.
