Yes, that's a trout. Chunky 14-15" rainbow I caught in the point 23 area on the Ned rig. Nice looking rainbow, released it back into the lake.

Launched at 10 AM, waited until the temp got above freezing, fished until 4 PM. The bass fishing was fair, caught 3 largemouth on a McStick off a windy bank, 2 of them were nice 2 lb. keepers. Caught another 1/2 dozen Spots on the Ned rig. Fishing was a bit slower than a couple of days ago.

The weather was a bit breezy, cold, with clear skies, water temp 45-46.

That trout would look good nestled up to some mac and cheese piping hot right off the grill. He got no beez-ness being in there anyway.

Funny that you posted the pic of the trout, as I caught one about the same size in Mill Creek back around the Thanksgiving holiday. That trout smashed a square bill crank bait almost as soon as it hit the water.

The Ned will catch them all! Agree with Bill, it's been good winter fishing so far.

I was thinking that after catching that trout. He wanted it too, he whacked it, dropped it, then came back and got it again.

Ham will probably catch a hundred a day on it below Bull.

Know that Ned has articles up on his blog about the trout. Will see if I can come up with a link. There was also a report from last winter/spring covering the little rig on Taney. That came across his FNN newsletter.

But so far no mention of old vs new warts, jerkbait colors, etc. Has to be a win on balance right?
