I pretty sure that Yo zuri junk is on sale at TW right now if anyone wants to try it. I truly think Nanofil is the way to go, but I don't mind trying to save those wandering in the darkness a few pennies while they struggle on with inferior products. ;)

Only the Hybrid Soft and colored line is on sale. Not just the regular Hybrid in clear. It's good stuff. Very limp, very strong and holds a knot a lot better than other smaller diameter line I've tried. I've thought about trying P-Line but just haven't gotten around to it.

I like the Kalin's Sizmic grub better than any grub I've ever used.

Two most successful colors have been the K Shad and Southern Shad

It's so versatile for me:

Split Shot (Mojo) Rig: I use the larger size with a 3/0 hook on 15lb braid main / *20lbfluro leader with a 3/8oz-1/2oz split shot. I like the split shot weight because I am constantly changing the distance between the weight and hook as depth changes.

Carolina Rig: Larger size here. 3/0 hook, usually a 3/4oz-1oz weight with *20lbfluoro main and 15lbmono leader. 36"- 48" on leader length.

Shaky Head: Smaller size here; with the 1/4 jig head / 15lb braid / *20lbfluoro leader

Drop Shot Rig: Smaller size here; with the 3/0 (or #3, I can never remember) Owner Downshot hook. 1/4oz-3/8oz weight. 15lb braid/ *20lbfluoro leader.

Wobble Head: Larger size here. I like the wobble head jigs from Mr. Frank at Swing Oil Baits. Usually use the 7/16oz or 1/2oz/. 50lb braid / *20lbfluoro leader

*20lbfluror leader: I realize this seems awfully excessive, especially for drop shot / shaky head - but I use that Sunline Sniper; and it's not as thick as other fluorocarbons on the market.

My favorite method on Table Rock, by Far, is the wobble head in 10' or so of water. To see how well this thing really tracks, drop it in 2' or so on a rocky bottom, and watch the action when you ssssssslllllooooowwwwwwlllllyyyyyy ddddddrrrrraaaaaggggg it along the bottom. It's so natural, it's simply amazing. The tail stays floating while the wobble head bounces around the rocky bottom. Looks just like a minnow picking off debris from the bottom.

Finally, I am so glad that someone posted a question with which I could help. All too often, the threads I read have folks on there with infinitely more knowledge on the topic than I. But, I can hold my own on with Sizmic Grub Fishing, and I am glad to be able to help for once ;)

I actually just picked up 2 packs of the Kalin's sizmics from TW over the Black Friday sale to give them a chance when I get back down to TR. Thought about putting them on an A-Rig or jighead. 3.8" seemed like a nice size match to the shad that TR bass usually belch up on the front deck. Glad to hear that you like them and they have great action. Only thing that is annoying about them is the packing they come in. I know they have to do it like that to keep the bodies in perfect shape but just annoying to deal with. Kinda like the LFT Magic Shads.

Good info guys. All good grub fishing information, always learn something I didn't know. One thing I don't think was mentioned is to use a dab of lock tite gel to attach the grub to the jig head. This will save having to change the grub out after catching a few because it is sliding down the jig head.

Yes, good info. I fish the grub often. Mostly use GYCB 5" in Smoke w/pepper or Clear w/Large Silver Flake (now discontinued??). Yes, the 4" are fragile as the connection between tail & body is very small. The 5" ones are not made like that. Mostly 1/4 oz but some 3/8 oz. Super versatile bait. Swing grub along edges of cedars for a hot bite most of the year. Clear water, prespawn & spawn gravel bite can be cast & "dead stick" for 15 to 20 seconds to give them time to swim over and eat it, if they don't get it on the drop. Have caught about everything in the lake on the grub including gar, channels, walleye & carp. Am fishing swimbaits more and more though and like them much also.

"I honestly thing the GYCB 4 inch grub is the best at getting bitten, but the dang things are so impossibily flimsy, but I will never buy another one"

Has anyone tried the elaztech grubs? seems like the stuff is indestructible and would hold up much better than the GY grubs.

The new zman grubs are in hand, and will be in the boat this spring. Basically same size as the 4" gycb or chompers. I dare the K's to bite the tails off.

Earlier versions were more like a walleye or saltwater grub, not the bass size or shape. Only downside I see on the new ones is possibly the lack of salt. May not matter.

I have been looking at those wobble head jigs I think I will buy a few Friday when I go down to Pro Bass and Academy in springfield. I looked today at Wallmart but all they had were 1/8. I would like a couple other sizes as well. I think I could make my own messing with the jig mold a bit. I think I might be able to place a large swivel in the hook hole an use a large split ring for the hook. I believe it would offer about as good a retrieve.
