dtrs5kprs Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 To clarify, being moderator here does not give Bill access to anyone's private messages but his own. Fishdoctor, I told Bill (completely outside of the forum) that I had offered you the reels, the price I offered them for and that you declined. I did so in case he knew someone else that might be interested. Bill formed and voiced his opinion from there. Unlike our modern-day kum-ba-yah society, OAF posters are entitled to have their opinions and voice them. If they happen to be contrary to someone else's convictions --- which is the case 99% of the time --- it doesn't make anyone a hater/criminal. I've fished with Bill and he has no personal vendetta against any one gear maker or retailer. He simply insists on top-shelf equipment, and who can blame him since he makes his living with it? A professional auto mechanic doesn't use bargain-bin handtools. The fact that someone doesn't like a product and says as much is not reason to take offense, label them a hater (happens too often here, if not this time) or anything of the sort. Heck, someone speaking negative about a product just might save me some money/frustration. I'll take the bad AND the good info anytime. Amen.
Members fishdoctor Posted January 23, 2015 Members Posted January 23, 2015 Thanks for clarifying this Champ. Did you send him the pictures of the reels with the boat rash that you sent me? Maybe that would help form his opinion on my decline of the offer. Instead of risking to offend you with a lower counter offer, I declined and I thought you and I were good. Scroll back to my original post, it was 3 lines not provoking anyone. I feel Mr. Babler came back at me in a condescending manner for absolutely no reason, I didn't even involve him in any conversation. But heaven forbid if anyone tries to speak back to him in the same manner as he does with someone else, you are in the wrong. Maybe I am taking this wrong, but if you scroll through the posts I don't believe I was the aggressor here. I also did not call him a hater or anything like that. If someone comes at me first, I will come back at them. I am done here. Life is too short. I was trying to buy some reels and they were the wrong brand to bring up here, that won't happen again. You are right, everyone has there own opinion. I hope I at least got a smile on the football comment
5bites Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 It's nothing compared to our dachshund. She practically needs her own dresser or closet for all of her outfits. She doesn't mind dressing up though. The only problem with her outfits is that she is getting too fat to wear a lot of them lol. 10641224_10152368415108404_4180700658307857781_n.jpg 1383738_10151672774053404_502049753_n.jpg 1391635_10151690288388404_266825590_n.jpg 10357139_10152539191208404_1372622191357576935_n.jpg 10703499_10152445449208404_5593241275229093627_n.jpg Man that's awesome lol!!! I love dachshunds. One day I'll get one. I won't dress it but I'll get one. This is easily my favorite thread here yet. Ham and Seth 2

Champ188 Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Gosh dangit, gotta have a thread like this every now and then. Especially in the winter.
Seth Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Man that's awesome lol!!! I love dachshunds. One day I'll get one. I won't dress it but I'll get one. This is easily my favorite thread here yet. I guess I will keep posting pictures of my dog since I'm so ate up with her lol. We are definitely dachshund folk. Darla, the one pictured above, has been with us since the day she was born and she will be 11 this summer. I gave her to my fiance (girlfriend at the time) as a birthday present. We got the original mommy and daddy back when I was still in high school in the early 2000's and now nearly everybody we know has dachshunds. She pretty much rules our world. We have a tendency to doze off while watching TV. She always has to attack my dead critters I bring home from hunting and investigate the fish I catch. She is a die hard squirrel chaser too. This was a few years ago when we had a big old fox squirrel we named Charlie always coming by. He would do circles around the tree and then bail off and run to a different tree and she'd be hot on his heels. It was quite entertaining! This is dad's newest dog. They got him from a lady that my step mom with that had a litter of pups last year. The tip of his tail is broken and is always crooked so he got named Crook. The other dog is a red and his name is Red. Dad doesn't get too creative with his dog naming lol. He likes to sit on dad's shoulder and clean food crumbs from his beard and that's why he was on my shoulder. My facial hair is non existent so he was disappointed. Ham 1
Champ188 Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Good stuff, Seth. Sitting in a recliner with a critter piled up on you just can't be beat, IMO. Don't know what we'd do without all/any of ours. Nice smallmouth and gobble-birds, by the way. I'm too much of a dang softy to kill anything on four legs anymore, but birds I can shoot. Gonna get back into turkey hunting someday. Seth 1
dtrs5kprs Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Love the sound of a bird hitting the earth.
Ham Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Seth your post helps cement a theory that I have that the tree rats in my yard toy with my dog. Unless some poor unfortunate rodent blows out tendons in all four legs at once, she'll never catch one. She continues to believe that she will catch one BUT they run from tree to tree on the ground just fast enough to keep from being caught. They could go from tree to tree in the limbs, but prefer to jump to the ground in front of her to provoke the barking and chasing. Seth 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. abkeenan Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 If we could just somehow manage to get killing and eating bass, pre rap wiggle warts, ned rig info and complaining about jet ski's into this thread pretty sure it is a lock to blind the groundhog from seeing his shadow and the winter will come to an abrupt end mid February. Who would have thought that seasonal weather patterns across the region depend on OAF discussions/arguments? Seth and Champ188 2
