Biffle bugs & Biffle hardheads are a staple in my arsenal for the bait caster.

Ned's, goes without saying.

Other than War Eagle are there any other spinnerbait brands out there that are among your favorites? I've used Gamakatsu hooks for quite a while for worms, centipedes, doctors, etc. Anything better out there now? Typically add a 1/8 or 1/4 oz screw in type bullet weight.

I have more tackle than I could use in a lifetime. I probably only use about 20% of it. That being said if I was locked into having a dozen rods on the deck for the rest of my life on Table Rock they would consist of the follow baits:

1. Jig of your choice in various weights (I am partial to NuTechs now but whatever floats your boat)

2. Mid Crank Depth - Wiggle Warts and I also like old Poe's Cedars

3. Deep Cranks - DD22's, SK 6XD Rapala DT series, etc

4. Wobble Head with soft plastic of your choice (I like Missle Bait D-Bombs, Zoom Brushhogs, Big 10-12" worms)

5. Various Size Jigheads (1/8-1/2oz) for attaching/swimming grubs (Kalins 5" grub) or soft swim baits (3-6")

6. Spinnerbaits/Squarebills (same rod for me) - I like War Eagles and Booyah spinners and I like Strike King KVD squarebills

7. Topwater - walk the dogs, poppers and wakers - I like Spooks, Spit'n Images, Chug Bugs and Jackall Mikey's

8. A-Rig/Heavy Hard Swimbaits - Lures around 2oz or heavier (Get my bladed A-Rigs cheap off Ebay and rig them with Storm Wild Eye Swim Shad 3" attached) - SPRO BBZ's and R2S S-Waver

9. Jerk bait - I am partial to SPRO McSticks

10. Spoon - Both jigging style and flutter style in various sizes, weights and shapes (white or chrome are the colors I use)

11. Drop Shot or Finesse baits - I like Robo Worms from DS'ing and like Buckeye Spot Removers for Shakey Heads, Ned Rigs here also

12 - Specialty Rod/Bait that you have confidence in or maybe want to experiment with (this is my large hard swim baits rod personally)

I realize that encompasses a lot but that is my list or baits I would want to have throughout the 4 seasons on the rock.

I am not surprised. You have been given excellent and accurate advice. I cannot add anything for bass fishing.other than Carolina rigged fish doctors. I fish a couple of things not mentioned in these posts, but I am eccentric - I love twin spins like the old Shannons and I fish a Top Dollar top water quite a bit. However, you have the best advice anyone could seek.

That is some great stuff! Thanks for the input. Apparently, you didn't notice that I'm a Jayhawk prior to divulging such a comprehensive list! Just goes to prove that we really can all get along!

Nah. It's just that MIZZOU moved on to bigger and better things (SEC) and left you pathetic Jayhawk's in the dust toiling around in that joke of a conference the Big 12. Thus KU is irrelevant now. LOL. But seriously I do REALLY miss the MU vs KU basketball games. Even though we were on the losing end the overwhelming majority of the time they still were graet games.

No problem offering some tidbits of what I've had success with on TR. Others have had success on other baits that I just never have or I haven't given a fair shake such as buzz baits, flukes, lipless cranks, blade/silver buddy baits and others I am leaving out. I am sure there are guys here that tear them up on stuff I didn't bother to mention. Sorry that you lost all your baits but at least you can now put together a bunch of baits that you know you will use instead of totting around 150lbs of fishing plastic like me. I better keep lifting weights in order to be able to carry all this crap to and from the dock/boat/house. I have the "just in case" syndrome where I have to have that bait in the boat "just in case".

Coming from someone that lost it all in a storm and had to restock, here's my suggestion....

Rather than go out and suffer thru a major shopping event which is going to result in more impulse buying than you think, I would only buy what you need for Late Winter/early Spring. Then add tackle as the yearly patterns progress.

Sure you could go ahead and restock your mainstay tried and true stuff that you know you'll have to have, but lots of things are in the developmental stages still at this time so I'd play it cool and wait it out.

In other words: Give those Wiggle Wart copiers time to get it right before dumping 200.00 on the song being sung NOW... just to find out there's something better on the horizon when the WW bite really begins.

Great advice and point well taken. That being said, I really am willing to take this kind of slow and build as I go. Just want to make sure that whatever I do buy for more immediate use is as close as I can get to waste free I guess. You guys know so much more than I do that I just wanted to pick your brains as much as possible before spending a dime. Thanks!
