Members mstbasser Posted February 10, 2015 Members Posted February 10, 2015 Hello all, I'm curious for some opinions on the best spinning rod for trout fishing. I usually fish marabou jigs but sometimes float glo balls or micro jigs. My price range is around $100 and under. Thanks for any help! Corky 1
grizwilson Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Phil sells a really nice rod in that price range at Lilly's Landing. g “If a cluttered desk is a sign, of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign?”- Albert Einstein
Ham Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Dorber OMT 84UL IF you can get one. They are sold in Flippin at the factory, but I don't know if they have any in stock. You would need to call them BEFORE you drive by there. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

BFTMASTER Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 I am trying out a Temple Fork Gary Loomis signature series next week on the white. 7' light/fast. I will let you know what i think. Retail $109, feels pretty sweet
joeD Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Depends. You can drive to work in a Ford Escort or a Mercedes AMG. Both will get you there, but the rides will different. If you have some money, spend the $185 on the Loomis. Spend about $100 or so on a 6ft St. Croix. Everything else is everything else. Not bad, but not great either. However, if you skimp on the reel, and don't match it with whatever rod you're purchasing, you will certainly be disappointed with the outcome. Look how much money we spend on coffee at QT and Starbucks in a year. Yet, we dither over the cost of valuable tools that we use doing the things that we love and have a passion for. I think most of the pricier rods and reels and other fishing equipment are worth it. It's an investment in quality that helps you perform. Daryk Campbell Sr, LittleRedFisherman and Terrierman 3
