Caught a couple of keeper flounder on Sat. Seasoned filets with garlic powder and ground pepper. Lightly floured then pan fried in olive oil and a little butter. Steamed broccoli rabe and brown rice mix. Sauce for fish was butter, pinot grigio, shallots and fresh dill.

Tasty but not pretty meal last night, a small strip steak and a barley pilaf. The only pretty part was the avocado with marinated tomatoes.

The rest of the flounder filets were breaded with my seasoned panko crumb mix. Served with tempura fried onions and a wedge salad. No photos but delicious.

Tuesday included a fancy dinner meal away from home. Thursday I reverted to an old favorite, hot dog casserole. The salad featured greens from my patio garden.

A play on a Monte Cristo sandwich. French toast with Applewood smoked ham and baby Swiss. A little blackberry jelly as well. Then some Yukon gold home fries on side.

Love a Monte Cristo. Glad you put on the jelly, because to me that’s a necessity on that sandwich.
