You get the spice from the buffalo, the sweet from the honey roasted peanuts, and the honey mustard onion flavor ties it all together. Wash it down with an ice cold Amberbock in a frosty mug

Picked up 4 pounds of nice, small, wax free cukes at Wally World today. 3 pounds in a brine with pepper corns, dill seed, dried dill, red pepper flakes and garlic. They’ll ferment for a few weeks and get sour.

Last pound went into Microwave bread and butter pickles. Sounds nuts I know but these are really tasty and easy. Onion, vinegar, sugar, salt, mustard seed, celery seed and turmeric. 7 minutes.

And a baked sweet potato.  And a green salad - that has lots of tomato chunks in it too.

That's Montreal Steak for the seasoning.  A local favorite, even if I'm nowhere near Canada.

There might be a Sam Adams Summer Ale involved too, who knows?

For some years I have made bread and butters, but I always bought the cucumbers at farmers markets to get the right variety and avoid the waxing. Perhaps I will work up the courage to go to the recently reopened markets.

If you are at the market and see serrano or cayenne, buy a bunch of them, don gloves to pith and seed them, and then pickle them like bread and butters. Sweet pickled heat. Incredible.

Y’all are cooking good! Planned on pork steaks, corn, and cucumber salad, but our guests from KC wanted take out Sushi tonight. Freshly unemployed wife, can do that stuff tomorrow. No worries, she hated that gig (AT&T) and has a pile of leads. Might double her income this year with the severance.
